Ceramic coating new wheels

Kickerz71

Question

Just a question will the coating cause issues when the wheel weights are installed. Will they have a hard time to stick on the wheel?

im waiting on a new set and not sure if I should coat prior to tire install or wait until it’s balance and the tire is on

thank you

I suggest not coating the area where the weights would go. You could use a line of masking tape over that section. That way if the wheels have to be rebalanced down the road you won’t have to remove the coating when weights are moved.

Wait until you get the tires mounted and balanced.  The tire sop will make a bit of a mess and you will need to clean them up a bit.  As mentioned about the weights as well.

Update - I received my ceramic wheel kit.

Once I have prepared my wheels, I apply the ceramic then once cured I remove with suede towel?

The kit came with the suede towel and 2 double soft microfiber towels.

Thanks in advance.

Do an initial wipe with the suede to level, then the double soft to remove remaining residue.
