Dark Spot appeared after swirl and haze remover?

gred1987

Question

I have been using Adam's products for 10 years now or so, I know how to use them correctly and love their products.

Someone keyed my wife's new Pacifica on the front fender, it is a flat ceramic gray color.

Busted out the Swirl and Haze remover to see if I could "blend it" to hide it from the eye.

Was working well on 70% of the scratches, which is what I was expecting and I am happy with the results.

BUT I noticed a dark spot on the paint appear, about the size of a silver dollar.

It is to the right of the vertical scratch.

Can anyone tell me it is??

Did I burn through the clear coat?

It is smooth the touch and not rough or bleeding.

Can I fix it with Polish?

That is an odd dark spot for sure.  I have no idea what it could be.
I would however fill the scratch with paint and then top it it with some clear coat.  I’d wet sand it smooth, then polish it out.

Hi,

It will be multiple things that can cause that like different polishes used, a coated car but only polished spot not entire panel. Did you polished the entire panel or just where it's keyed?  I would recommend to do the panel with Polish first if it was not done.

I did swirl haze remover mostly over the scratch spot but did go a few inches left and right of it.

So your saying fine polish will take out that dark spot maybe?
