Did my coating gone? UV trace does not glow anymore.

Explorer322

Question

I applied coating last Saturday, and it rained Monday through Wednesday.

My vehicle became dirty, lost glossy look somewhat, and I noticed coating streaks here and there.

Today, I washed my vehicle and reapplied coating on spots to correct the streaks.

However, the issue that I have notice was that under the UV light the coating does not glow anymore.  It does glow on spots that I reapplied today but not for the entire vehicle.

Did the rain washed a way the coating?  Should I reapply the coat on entire vehicle again?  I am baffled.  I asked about the rain on this forum before I apply and got answer that I should be okay as long as I don't use a soap.

No the rain did not remove the coating.  That would be impossible after the coating has cured.

  1. “Does the UV Coating act as a durability indicator?”

No, it doesn’t. It’s currently offered as an application aid and utility for visualizing the coating. Lack of glow does not indicate lack of coating.
