Hi, and welcome!

 

Do you mean use Surface Prep in place of the clay? Yes, but it's not meant to do the same thing. Clay will remove bonded contamination while the prep is essentially just a cleaner, although it does target things like polish oils.

Hey, Tom! I'm the one talking to you on the IG account. To clarify, claying will help, but the baggie test he's referring to will help guide if you really need to. It certainly won't hurt though.

As mentioned, wait till you drive in weather to see the results, or even when you go to clean the windshield after snow. I think you'll be pleased then!
