New to 10H Ceramic Coating

First time applying any Ceramic Coating to my car. I tried an initial application to the trunk lid. Applied in a cross hatch pattern. Turned off lights and used the UV Light. I can clearly see cross hatch patterns on the lid. Is this correct or do I need to change my application technique?

As long as the coverage is complete and even, you're fine!

Once the coating cures you will not see them.  As stated as long as you got even coverage that is what matters.

I discovered that when waiting too long to rub the coating down, the coating would set. Once I started the rub down more quickly, the product was more evenly distributed (by buffing) and no more cross hatch patterns.

 

The initial process of applying the coating was intimidating, but in practice it was a breeze. I found the coating to be very forgiving.

There is a fine line between when it's too soon and when it's too late. The surface should be slightly tacky, not slick. Wait too long though, and it'll be a shoulder workout for sure!
