Team Adam's Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Figured I'd post some pics of my old mans ride... he does what he can to maintain it (using all Adams products of course) but it still makes a trip to my garage every couple months so I can put my touch on it for him. Its long overdue come to think of it, but heres some eye candy from after the last time I tore it down and completely redid the finish from scratch (pardon the pun) Absolutely love detailing Vettes... and even more when they're Jet Stream Blue Metallic, the color has so much life in it... seems to get more dramatic with every new angle you look at it.
Loud Pedal Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Sweet ride What did he do to lower it? Coil overs? Lowering Bolts?
Team Adam's Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 Lowering bolts from WCC... hes not too happy with them though... they keep wearing thru the cheap bushings they include. Gonna probably pull it apart soon and come up with our own solution.
Loud Pedal Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Thanks man, I've heard about that happening, keep me posted on what you guys come up with. Good job again man, it looks good.
Bill-V8V Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Looks great :rockon::rockon: What's he done under the hood ?
Marylander Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Bill! You've got some competition there... maybe it's time to consider more time in the garage and less time on the forum...?!?
Bill-V8V Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Trust me, now that the weather is changing I'll be doing a major clean up But today I was busy driving it :D:D:D:D
Marylander Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Trust me, now that the weather is changing I'll be doing a major clean up But today I was busy driving it :D:D:D:D I'm just glad that when it comes to future Adam's detailing contests that Dylan is in a different class than you and I -- because I think he'd mop the floor with us.
JJ1o87 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Holy christ that thing is beautiful, what'd you do it her?

I'm impressed :2thumbs::2thumbs: Maybe I can get him to come over and clean mine up :D:D:D
livingwater Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Beautiful pictures Did your Dad install the Z51 emblems that are on the side of his vette?
Rich Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I would give anything to be able to get a new Z in that color. Those wheels are killer on the car. Beautiful, and I like the badges he added. Great looking car and shine.
b_pappy Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Beautiful job & beautiful car! Really looks stunning, nice photos too. Bruce
Team Adam's Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 Looks great :rockon:What's he done under the hood ? Nothing really... a Vararam Snakecharmer intake and changed out the underhood liner for one w/ a full color set of corvette flats, other than that its just that pretty LS3. I'm just glad that when it comes to future Adam's detailing contests that Dylan is in a different class than you and I -- because I think he'd mop the floor with us. HAHA... thanks... I can't take all the credit, I get some pretty cool cars to work on. Holy christ that thing is beautiful, what'd you do it her? strip wash claybar rewash SHR FMP MSW BSG BSG BSG BSG BSG BSG BSG you get the point. I'm impressed :2thumbs::2thumbs: Maybe I can get him to come over and clean mine up :D:D:D You pay for my flight and put me up for a weekend maybe we can work something out Beautiful pictures Did your Dad install the Z51 emblems that are on the side of his vette? Yea, he added the emblems. Some people love em, some people hate them. Hes had people accuse him of trying to make it look like a Z06 when it isn't but I think thats pretty lame considering the badges say Z51. Personally I really like em.
Nitelord Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 That looks great... Tell the nay-sayers to ... go away. The badges look awesome...

The only thing that matters is that he likes them  Any pictures of the hood liner ? I'm looking to change mine out at some point but just can't decide what to put on it
Superdutytd Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I really like the Corvette's Blue and Orange colors. Are all corvettes painted with that ceramic paint?
Bill-V8V Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I really like the Corvette's Blue and Orange colors. Are all corvettes painted with that ceramic paint? It's actually a metallic tintcoat not a ceramic. I think the only other tintcoats are Crystal Red and Velocity Yellow
Superdutytd Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Bill do you have any other further insight to this 'tintcoat' all i know is that it is HARD.
Bill-V8V Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 That really has more to do with the clear coat used over it. They do use a hard clear coat, i think it was harder on the C5's than on the C6's, but it can really vary by car. But it is not like the ceramiclear used by Mercedes. That stuff is really hard :2thumbs:
Adam Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 (edited) Nice work Dylan, was your Dad thrilled about it? As for the suspension, look into www.PfadtRacing.com Every single customer of theirs swears up and down that their cars drive like a completely different vehicle after the upgrade. Every one of them! They were next to use at the Corvettes at Carlisle 2 years ago, and we had a chance to meet, and listen to their testimonials from current customers. Those people came to the Pfadt booth, like they were paid almost, giving incredibly high marks on the coil overs, etc. Also, Aaron Pfadt is a stand-up guy, high marks for integrity, a guy you will enjoy doing business with. Team Adam's Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 Thanks for the recommendation Adam... I'll have to take a look at them and maybe convince the old man to upgrade.
