Adam's saved the wheels

Sundog Detailing

Question

A customer brought me his wheels after a run in with a freshly paved road last fall, needless to say they were in bad shape. They were also covered in brake dust and road grime.

After some GWC, SHR and about 4 hrs per wheel I brought them back to life, I finished them off with a coat of Swissvax wheel wax.

After GWC and a boars hair brush, removed everything but the hardened tar.

Kerosene works the bees knees on removing tar from painted or anodized wheels as well... At least it has on my motorcycles... I noticed this after cleaning the chain with kerosene that it doesn't seem to harm the surface. I just wax it really well when done.

Just thought it may save some time over polishing it off.

Came out beautiful though! Good job!

I take that you are in a Subaru club or something huh? You do a lot of Subaru products.

look as NASIOC.com for massive amounts of Subaru info and parts, but be warned it is full of pissant aholes.

That's the problem when KIDS buy cars and post about them.

It's already stage II cobb with up and down pipes.

Just need an exhaust... Wonder if the fiance would like it... lol

Did you know you can use WD40 to remove bugs, tar, and road paint from your car and it won't hurt the paint?

Yep! A lot of peeps use it to clean their M/C chains as well, but Kerosene works as well and is considerably cheaper. It just doesn't come in a spray can like WD-40 does.
