clay question

ive clayed vehicles before and ive always used a detail spray to keep the surface lubed....but funds arent permitting me to get the adams clay bar/ds combo at the moment....and i think i read on here in another post that they clayed the vehicle while they were actually washing it....is this just as effective? just curious before i try this....i would assume it is and is safe as long as the surface being clayed is kept lubricated while claying

You can mix up some car wash soap and water in a spray bottle to use as lube

You could do that, but it may cause more trouble than it's worth. What you can do is mix up some Adam's car wash & water in a spray bottle and use it for your clay lube.

I use the car wash soap from Adams mixed with water,works great:thumbsup:

Soapy water that is all you need

The downside to using tap water is when it dries - you now have sediment laden water spots all over. Now you'd have to go back and clay them off! Best bet if you have to use water is to dry as you go.

I used bottled water with a cap full of car shampoo drying as I went worked fine. Been using Adams DS lately also works great.

I've also used VRT mixed w/ water in a pinch... wasn't ideal, but it got the job done.

i needed some DS....so i went ahead and bought the combo with the clay bar and DS...also bought revive S&H IUC spray and the fire hose nozzle!

 

think im ready now? lol

Thats a good start for sure.... all great products. What do you plan on using for your top coat??

ive still got some buttery wax.....gonna use that then put a coat of BSG on top of that

That will look really good! Buttery wax does do the shine and with BSG on top of that it is insanely shiny.

im waitin on all my stuff to get here and gonna pick a nice afternoon next week to detail it....might have to do it this sunday since i work till 6 everyday ill post pics when im done
