At Mount Mitchell State Park, the highest point East of the Mississippi. It's on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very beautiful, great views! Having a blast so far! When I first started coming up here, yep, I was like WHOA! The roads and elevation! But now, I'm just a Florida tagged vehicle that can (almost!) hang with the locals on these roads! I kinda liked the old tower, but the new setup is very nice, plus the walk up is a lot easier--paved all the way up. I too have been there when it has been rotten--cold and foggy!
