What exactly is marring, holograms...

I've been detailing for 2 years now and haven't heard these words before. Maybe a good spot for a right up and pictures...

 

What is marring and holograms... I assume marring is too much product... hologram? Etching? (bird poo oxidizes thru CC?)

Trying not to sound noobish, but trollin some posts and see this come up frequently. I'm sure I've run into marring and holograms before just didn't know that was the "term" for them.

I can't say I've ever seen Marring, of even know what it would look like. Sorry...

 

I'd guess marring was the swirls left from improper washing/drying/detailing techniques. That's just my guess...

Wow those are really bad. A mobile detailer left holograms on my Mustang that's what lead me to find Adam's so I can fix it myself.
