Decal question

I'm going to be doing the wifes charger in the next couple weeks. I plan on using the blue painters tape to mask off the stripe. What will be the best way to do the word (Charger)?

 

 

Car is going to get the full treatment, clay bar, swirl & haze remover, polish and buttery wax all by hand.

I would take a MF applicator and go over that area by hand. Just do the best you can at not getting any on the decal and wipe off what you do get on there immediatly.

Q-tips are all I can think of but I don't know if that would work with the polish. I would mask off around (as in leave the paint exposed) and try polishing by hand.

Thanks, I haven't thought of Q-tips. Sounds like that will be the way to go.

I would very lightly wax over it ,use very very little wax.By hand only . It will make the decal look better! Remember don't go over board, if you would like try a small section and you will see what it looks like.Americana or Buttery won't leave it white looking.

I'd just do it really carefully and throughly once, using q-tips, little sponges brushes or whatever, then never, ever aggressively wash that letter area again. Just maintain a good finish and leave it at that.

I'd like to put something on the paint there to protect it. I'll probably omit the clay bar there though.
