I am unbelievably angry.

Opeth

Question

Not an hour ago, I go out to my car to go to the grocery store. I notice hand prints on my rear window. It didnt actually register that they were hand prints as my car is quite dirty due to week long rain.

Well on my way, I hear something FALL OFF OF MY CAR AND SKID TO A STOP. It is my rear spoiler. I turn around, pick it up and go back. Under the streetlight, I see that my entire trunk lid is scratched, and roof is scratched up too. BAD.

My neighbors were having a BBQ next door so I go over to ask what the F*&K happened. Well, two guys were walking by and their (my neighbors) dogs began to bark. Well, one of the dudes bolted. And the other JUMPED ONTO THE TOP OF MY CAR TO ESCAPE THE CAGED DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dog wasnt even out!! He heard barking and immediately thought the dog was after him so instead of running like his friend, he decided to climb on top of the nearest car. i.e. MINE.

I don't even know what to do I'm so angry. And I think I may have hurt my hand punching a wall. I havent even got the bumper fixed yet from the wreck I was in. And now this.

Sorry for all the yelling, but just seeing all those scratches infuriates me. It seems that this car is a target for accidents. It figures, the fact that I love my car and take care of it meticulously THATS the car S$*T keeps happening to.

No, they were just walking by. The neighbors tried to tell him the dogs werent out, but he freaked.

Also, the reason I have this in the detailing section is that I will try to have pics up and see if this can be fixed or needs to be painted.

OH HE...LL NO! WTF? WTH? I'm pissed now!

I'd find out who it was and have him pay it. If not then I'd talk to a lawyer about getting the neighbor to pay it. WTF? WHO jumps on TOP of a car?

Thanks for the comments everyone. I went over and talked to the neighbors again. They were no help, not that they were jerks, it was just dark and we get a lot of people walking by just because of the neighborhood were in. So nothing there. I've already talked with the my insurance agent and I'm going to have to file a claim.

Good news: The scratches are not nearly as bad as I thought. Somehow, they are just clearcoat scratches and should be polish-able. However, since the new spoiler and painting it will be higher than my deductible, I'm going to have the body shop do it. I guess that's good news. The estimate was $700 for everything.

I filed a police report, but there's nothing really they can do. Neighbor's talked to them, but this really is just a sh**ty situation for me.

Its not the neighbor's fault, I just wish they had told as soon as it happened. They said they went over to the car but didnt see any damage. I guess it was REALLY dark outside.

I dont know how many more times I can employ the "oh well. It can be fixed" attitude. Plus my knuckles really hurt today from punching a plaster wall 5-6 times last night. I'm pretty laid back, but I have limits. This is testing those limits.

I dont have a camera, so I wont have pics until I can borrow my brother's. Hopefully tomorrow. I was busy all day today running stupid errands for this ordeal.

I have never punched wall. I never have seen the logic in hurting myself because I was upset. With that said, I know your pain. I would be pissed too if someone damaged my property, especially my car. However, my reactions have always been proceeded with the question, "What good will that do?"

When someone walked into my garage and stole all of my detailing equipment while I was at home, I immediately wanted to cap a round off in someone's azz. Then I thought about all of the clean air I like to breath on a daily basis and thoughts of bunking up with a bunch of hairy men was not choice I was willing to make. After all, I didn't get hurt and everything that was stolen could be replaced.

Although it pisses you off, in reality, all of the damage done can be repaired. When you put things into perspective, you at least have a nice car for someone to jump on. Compare that to the poor soul who will be catching 3 buses in order to get to a minimum wage job in the worst weather this winter that you can imagine.

It's just not worth working yourself into a frenzy. Life is too short and there are things more important than our rides. At least your damage was not malicious like a lot of folks experience.

Are you sure your he's not covering for someone at his party...

That's what I thought I first. But I didnt want to jump to conclusions. When I went over the talk to them right after it happened, they seemed to be telling the truth. I know thats tought to tell. However, I spoke to everyone who witnessed it independently of each other and all stories matched and my insurance agent even had to speak to a witness and he said it matched. Either they rehearsed a fake story to cover for an idiot friend OR this acutally happened. I think it is later and hope it is the later.

And Junkman, thank you. I know it is only a car and I am grateful to have one. Its just that first reaction to seeing it damaged and thinking of this guy who completely overreacted really got to me. I'm am normally quite calm and in control. It's not like "I want to find this guy and beat his a#s." I'm not like that. Whatever his reason was, he did it. I won't be able to find him. If I did, what could I really do anyway? I'm not an a#s beater nor do I act like one.

I am over it now and have a new spoiler on order. Yes, I have to pay a deductible. Yes, it is money I dont have. But it could always be worse.

I hadn't been that angry since my last round of golf.:) Now THAT game gets me going.

Hey Christian, I had someone do a hood slide across mine last winter and my hands hurt for a week... I must have punched that steering wheel 10 times.

The person that parked next to me in the garage ALSO threw their door up against mine. I parked it in the end spot so I could park over the line leaving more room for the one next to me so it didn't happen. Unfortunately they just parked closer so it could. MAN WAS I PISSED! Thank God that car was gone because it wouldn't have been nice... I would have thumped a dent into the side of it so deep...

It was in a parking garage... I've never gone back.

 That is terrible. What goes through someone's mind that would willingly tear up someone's property? It boggles the mind.

Oh and in case you were curious. Don't break off your G8 spoiler, they are expensive. :)

Its been so cloudy and rainy the past several days, I havent actually seen the damage too well. Luckily, it is not as bad as first thought. And it is confusioningly minimal compared to what one would think would happened had someone climbed up their car. I'm actually kind of confused.

here are the pics. Please excuse the dirt.

And the spoiler and lack thereof. Remember, the spoiler fell off and skidded to a stop. I saw someone run over it too. Kinda impressed it didnt shatter.

There are a couple of scratches on the roof, but I could not get them to photo. Nothing terrible though.

This a nice long one on the deck lid. Now, I did have some swirls. I admit it. :o But some of these had to have been created from him scooting across the top of the trunk. The swirls, before, werent this bad. Easily fixable though. Like I said, I'm very lucky to only have this damage.
