694doorbird
I was reading some reviews on the foam gun at Amazon. One guy claims that he uses Suave Strawberry Shampoo to wash his car. Has any here tried that or heard of this? His claim is that it doesn't hurt the finish plus his car smells great.
0 TR6speed
Are you referring to the Adams Foan Spray gun? If you are I would stick with the Adams Car Wash Shampoo.
0 694doorbird
I was talking about the Gilmore Foam gun I saw on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Gilmour-75QGF4-Foamaster-Cleaning-Gun/dp/B000XTK940/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1256692740&sr=8-2 Read the third review form Evo Dude. This is the guy that says he uses Suave Strawberry Shampoo. As for me, I've switched from Meguire's wash to Adams wash!!
0 Rich
Does this sound like something you want to put on YOUR paint? Suave Strawberry Shampoo Ingredients Water (aqua), Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate; Ammonium Chloride, Tocopheryl Acetate [Vitamin E Acetate], Strawberry (Fragaria Vesca) Juice, Cocamide MEA, PEG-5 Cocamide, Fragrance (Parfum), Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Benzophenone-4, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Polysorbate 20, Methylisothiazolinone, D&C Red #33 (CI 17200), D&C Orange #4 (CI 15510). Ammonium Chloride.........Ammonium chloride is prepared commercially by reacting ammonia (NH3) with hydrogen chloride (HCl). As these chemicals are corrosive, this process has to be performed in vessels lined with nonreactive materials (e.g. glass, enamel, lead, or PVC).[2] The rest of the products are preservatives, vitamins, and scents. Think I'll pass using it on my paint.

0 694doorbird
The way I look at it is this. A hair shampoo is made to remove all the dirt/oils and everything else from your hair. Wouldn't it do the same to your car and remove the wax and polish?

Hair and paint are two very (obviously) different things. By your thought process I should be able to use gasoline to remove stains from the carpet in my house b/c it removes stains from my driveway. Or I should brush my teeth with bleach b/c it gets my white shirts their whitest. Be extremely cautious when taking information from random sources on the internet... specifically fairly anonymous reviews on sites like Amazon. Any idiot can get on there and post something way off, maybe b/c they're simply clueless or maybe with malicious intent to trick people into damaging things. I've run across people who claim to use pledge furniture polish and paper towels to clean their paint, people who claim windex is all your paint needs to stay clean and protected, and others who wash their car with a combination of extra virgin olive oil and mineral spirits.... all bad advice given by people who claim "outstanding results" on the internet.
