White car/truck

COBRA1993SVT

Question

Well this is my first post here. I am not new to detailing but I am new to the Adams Polishes. A friend got me the starter pack for Xmass and now I want to start using these products.

I have a DeWalt orbital and all the other stuff needed for detailing cars. What I want to do is start using the orbital more often. Both my daily driven cars are white(Honda Accord/Ford Expedition)and well taken cared for cars. They have the usual fine swirl marks on them.

What type of pads and products do I need to get to bring back the paint to mirror like?MY DeWalt orbital has a 6in velcro backing plate that I think cannot be removed(never tried)I have all the time in the world when it comes to my cars so that isn't an issue.

Please let me know your recomendations for products.

Thanks

:welcomebanner: I'm not sure which kit you're referring to, but as for which products to use to remove swirls and bring the paint back to life, I would do the following.

Clay

SHR

FMP

Top it off with your wax of choice. I've only used the MSW, but the Americana and BW also are very popular.

As for the rest of the car, the glass cleaner works great, VRT is awesome for tires/trim, and the list goes on and on. The nice thing about Adam's as well is there's not so many products that it makes your head spin trying to figure out what to use.

I think you'll be pleased with any of the Adam's products. I have yet to use a product that I didn't like as I think you'll find is the case with many of the users here.

Yes, Adam's makes the pads, but I they're designed to work with the Porter Cable 7424. I'm not familiar with the DeWalt. A quick phone call to Adam's, and I'm sure they can help you determine if their backing plate will attach to your polisher.

As for the colors...

SHR - Orange Pad

FMP - White Pad

MSW - Black Pad

I would apply Americana by hand since it's a paste, and Adam's has an applicator designed for it.

Also, I would watch the videos on the Adam's site. They're very informational, and he goes over each product, and demos how to use them.

I did watch a few of the videos while my 6 yr old was hovering over my shoulder.Still need to watch allot more. I am in no way new to detailing. I've done it for most of my life but I guess you would say the old school way.But I'm on allot of Ford websites if that matters. I have a 1993 Vibrant Red Cobra all original show car that IMO looks as good as the day I bought. So I think but am doubtfull about some things. It seems that they way I do it would be allot easier with an orbital

I have a orbital. I'm not sure of what color pads do what and how to use them. It's a DeWalt 443 model and I googled what the problems some people seem to have with them. I've never had a problem with it but then again I've not been using it the way it should be used. If I have to get a Porter Cable I will get one but IMO it seems small when I used it. I'd like to use my DeWalt orbital.
