I am not a big fan of NASCAR any longer I will watch certain races, such as Daytona, Tally, Charlotte, Bristol, and Darlington, but you can have the utter cutter tracks. I am more interested in ALMS and F1.

I really thing Mike Helton has done a lot to turn people off to NASCAR. The COT is a bust if you ask me. Go back to the days where a Chevy was a Chevy and a Ford was a Ford and so on. This one size fits all does not impress me. The bump draft is a small step in the right direction, but they need to let the drivers be drivers. It appears now that they are afraid to be aggressive and have Mike and his boys come down on them. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

I guess a little of the non-aggressive driving can also be blamed on the sponsors; they want their drivers to be 100% politically correct and look like a clean-cut all American. I would like to see more of the old Buddy Baker, Dale Earnhardt, and the other drivers of that group action. <o:p></o:p>

I use to be a NASCAR fan, and never missed a race. That was back in the days of real drivers, like Dale E, Dale J, Cale Y, Buddy B, and so on. Also the cars were stock cars, oh they were specifically built, but at least a Chevy was a Chevy, a Pontiac a Pontiac and a Ford a Ford. To days drivers are almost clones of the market. They are sponsor and team managed. They are politically correct (I am so tired of that).<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

I watched the Bud Shootout, and I had so much trouble staying awake. If you watch for the crashes, then Daytona is fine, but that was not racing. I see more action on the Interstate. Mike Helman wants to make sure the fans enjoy the races; he has to do something with the restrictor plate tracks. I still say throw out the plate, lower the Cubic Inches and compression ratio (detune) and let them go.

I stick to ALMS, F1, and Grand Am.
