ArmyAcadia09
hmm didn't notice. Do you have the yellow or blue ones? Would think it might be for first wipe and then final, like abrasiveness?
Chris@Adams
That is a good question?
Mick
Good question. I do not know. I have the blue ones. Will wait for an answer from the people in the know.
Bill-V8V
I just checked mine and you are right, there is a minor difference in the two sides. I would guess that is just due to the manufacturing process and I doubt it makes any difference in which side you use

Sooners
I've noticed before but never gave it much thought. However, I always tend to use the smoother side. I wonder if it's just the manufacturing or if the difference serves different purposes.

Sooners
I've started to use the matte side. I've noticed that the glossier side seems to lint quite a bit. The matte side doesn't seem to have this issue.

The matte side doesn't seem to have this issue. That's funny that you say that. I usually don't have a lint problem with these but when I used them the other day I got a bunch of lint. I will have to try using the matte side and see that makes a difference.
Zeus_SVT
I never knew the difference either and have often wondered. I typically fold it and use the matte side out of habit now, and it works for me. Maybe one of these guru's on here can teach us something new today.
XQIZT
The fabric weave does appear different on each side. On one side, when moved in a certain direction, it seems to "grip" the glass more, possibly scrubbing better. The other side seems to glide more nicely over the surface, regardless of direction. I've often wondered if that was by design or not...never experienced any linting though.
