Harley2k
First is, what exactly is "priming" a new pad? Is it a spray of DS or is it some way of getting polish spread over entire pad? Second is, tape. Do you use tape to keep product out of the panel seams or do you use it to protect the panel edges? I got my first order from Adams last Friday and if the weather will ever level out I'm gonna get after it but want to be fully prepared.
Bill-V8V
Check out the detailing video's, you will see Adam prime the pad with a quick shot of detail spray and the tape will do both
NightMare Silverado
You "prime" the pad by spraying it with DS, I also rub the pad around a little bit to spread the product before turning the PC on. Some people tape off pannel gaps but I didn't in my moms truck and I didn't have any problems. Of and welcome to the forum.
GerryC
You can also use tape to cover black plastic trim so that polish will not stain it. the stains will come out, but it's easier to just tape off the trim than having to deal with cleaning them up later, which, depending on how porous the plastic is, could take some time
