I took my rims and tires off to clean them. And i notice i could not get some tar off. So i took a little piece of clay bar and at first some APc and went to work. Soon after i started the clay turn to like play sand. So i thought it was the apc so i switch to gwc. But the damage was already done to they clay bar. Was it the apc? or is this something really wierd?

Not sure but the clay would have be toast anyway after using it on the tar.IMHO

APC will destroy clay... it actually breaks it down pretty quickly. Only reason I know is I accidentally got a good sized piece stuck in a door molding once, rather than try and scrape it out I just hit it with a shot of APC and it almost melted away within a few seconds.

Same thing happened to me. I was trying to clean some glass shower doors with an old piece of clay and some APC and it just crumbled apart.

Yea, its pretty crazy how fast it deteriorates, but handy if you ever need to get some clay off of something.

note to self do not use APC with clay, accept if u need to get it off something. Very good info. learn something new everyday.
