Nordgrey
Then I talked to my sister last night and she told me to give my head a shake. I guess growing up working on the things I did with my dad, it never occured to me it could be considered detailing. And the things I worked on? (Dad hated doing the fine finishing work!) Plywagen number 1 circa 1975 (VW bug chasis) Plywagen number 2 circa 1980 Harley 1200, suicide shift 69 Triumph 650 53 BMW PaddyWagen (on another VW Bug chasis) Electric car for Xmas for my niece Hovercraft...... yeah, a hovercraft......LOL aka Willit Run? And the final projectm with the man himself at the helm, Landis, a 26ft sail boat For twenty years, if dad built it, I polished it. Never seemed to be like work though. Can't imagine why. So, I guess I just have to relearn the patience of those years!
Nordgrey
PS, sorry for the lousy picture quality, I cannot find my CD with the originals on it and had to scarf these from my facebook page.

70'sChevyGirl
Those are really neat pics. I love the fact that you spent all that time doing something that you enjoyed and didn't even know it.
Nordgrey
The Plywagens were probably the most fun to get into shape. Four coats of varthane, sanding between each coat and then probably 50 plus hours of me sitting in the garage with a can of Simonize wood polish, a box of 0000 steel wool to apply it and a massive roll of chees cloth to buff it out. The toughest body work was that Isetta. You would not believe how heavy a gauge steel they used on those things. The Triumph I got to do twice, after my brother-in-law dumped it four days before he was to get married. Perfect example of leathers doing their job.
