Mr Smooth
2 questions if I may. How many times can you wax your car before you need to strip off the old wax? Where do you get the 5" pads Junkman talks about for the Poter Cable?
lawson4450
honestly Im not sure about exactly how many times you can wax but if you notice it getting hazy and cloudy then i would strip and start again but you shouldnt need alot of layers of wax especially MSW(machine super wax). put a coat on in about 12 to 24 hours a little wipe down with some DS(detail spray) and then a second coat of MSW a second wipe and your good for a couple of months. Also once you wax it you can do maintenance by using BSG (brilliant spray glaze) to keep the shine.as far as the pads are you referring to the 4 inch spot pads? or the larger pads for the Porter cable i believe are 6.5 inch if i remember correctly. Chewy
Yeah there's 4" pads and 7.5" pads and that's it. Adam did have 5 or 6 inch pads, but that was a couple years ago. On a daily driver that you use EVERY day, rain or shine and wash once a week or bi weekly, I'd put a coat of Americana on it monthly for optimal shine. Now if you don't care about shine (why are you here?) you can get away with every 3 months or so with one application of Americana. Machine Super Wax is the BOMB for longevity. One application will last 4-5 months easy and 2 a bit longer. Using all Adams products makes these products last longer. If you're going through car washes you can expect them to fail sooner. There's no solid time frame when you need to start stripping wax. I can tell that wax needs to come off when I start getting contaminates on the paint that need clayed. I'll use some 50/50 ISPA and water to take the wax off, clay, and then wax or in my case FMP then wax. Good luck! Chris
Chris@Adams
Here's the Adam's pads.
