Laguna
I keep an excel spreadsheet of all my gas purchases. All set up to auto-calculate everything. I've tracked it all since April of 2009. Here are my stats: Since this time last year, I have put 22,682 miles on my goat. DD ftw. I have spent $3,736.28 on gas at an average gallon price of $2.94 and the average fill-up of 13.322g. If anyone wants the excel sheet, I will be glad to send it to them. Here's what it looks like:

JerseyGator
Very interesting. I don't think I want to know the ugly truth. I spend TOO much money in gas each year.
Marylander
I track my mileage in the vw on fuelly.com. Its pretty cool... You enter fillups and mileage via the web or smartphone, and it can even generate a graphic for your forum signatures to note your realtime overall average. DieselDude
Also, I keep up with my mileage in Excel. I go one step more and calculate how much it cost me per mile to drive.
6spdg37s
I always use my CC to purchase so I can look back up to 7 years...

70'sChevyGirl
I am so lucky. My boss pays for all my gas in my DD. I haven't paid for any in about 4 years except for the Vettes! I really wouldn't want to know though. Another thing I wouldn't want to know is how much we have spent on hotrod parts or large toy purchases. :willy:

My G8 IS my company car so all fuel is paid for. I track the Enclave in my head. I really don't need to know how much I use. I know mpg sucks in town though. Nordgrey
Cool idea, but I always figure that I gotta spend what I gotta spend. A couple fill ups ago, I zero'd the l/100km part of the trip meter. My normal driving style earned me 10l/100km (that;s how it's done in metric land...LOL) or 23 MPG. Last fill up, I lightened up on the right pedal and got 9.2l/100km or 25 MPG. That's combined city/highway driving. So I have decided to keep the lead out of my butt and put it in my foot.

Memphis Senior
My dad was an engineer. He was kind of anal about things like this. He made me a spread sheet in 1990 to track ALL of the expenses associated with a new car I had just purchased. Not only gas and oil, but plates, insurance, tires, even parking fees. The last column gave total cost per mile driven. It was interesting to know, but more information than I felt I needed. I kept it up for about 12 years while he was alive. Only because he put so much work into constructing it. Now that I'm retired I don't drive more than 10-12K miles per year. That includes the 4K + miles round trip from CA to TN and back, each year.
