JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when De Gaulle decided to pull out of NATO. De Gaulle said he wanted all US

military out of France as soon as possible.

Rusk responded, “Does that include those who are buried here?"

When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of 'empire building' by George Bush.

He answered by saying, <o:p></o:p>

"Over the years, the United States has sent many of

its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return." <o:p></o:p>

There was a conference in France, where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, "Have you

heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?"

A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: "Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?" <o:p></o:p>

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a dinner reception, he found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.

Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, "Why is it that

we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?"

Without hesitating,the American Admiral replied, "Maybe it's because the Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German." <o:p></o:p>

Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.

"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."

The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !"

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look.. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to." <o:p></o:p>

While this is a nice little patriotic email circling around I'd love just once to see one of these where no one in our country gets bashed. Ala the president, and don't get me wrong I had the same attitude during the last administration too.

So maybe you can pass this next part along that I'm making up as I type this. I'm sure it will not be as eloquent but it will be with all the passion for this country in my heart.

America is at it's best when we are united, not divided. America is at it's best when we are helping the poor, the hungry, the tired, the sick, the down and out. America is at it's best when we work together to solve our problems, not demonize, run down, hate, create fear, cause hurt, tarnish reputations at the drop of a hat without any foundation for accusations, and trample those who do not share the same ideas that we do. America is at it's best when we put greed aside and realize that someone in need should be helped, not used as political tool to leverage the other side.

America was great for all those reasons, America is faultering because what I've stated is happening everyday in the media and other places people gather and share knowledge and news.

So my call to all of you is to come together, let's stop polarizing and start bringing together people to not only make this country great again, but to be that shining beacon on the hill it is. Let's help the REAL America stand up let's tell Democrats, Republicans, and Tea Baggers to go to hell and quit using us for their gains. We are not in their best interest, their pocket books are and until everyone wakes up and realizes that this country will continue it's slide into recession or depression. Unemployment will remain sky high, people will not be able to feed their families, and the middle class will continue to disappear.

Let's encourage Americans to buy American, build in America, and work together for a better future. I don't have any fancy quotes from famous people, but only this from one great man. "A house divided cannot stand!" You might have heard of the guy that said that, he was our 16th President. His words have never rang more true.

I assure you the people on the radio and tv that work hard to divide us every day have nothing but their own best interest in mind. Please keep that in mind when you listen to them. Think for yourself, work together, help your neighbor. If we all do that NOTHING can stop this great country of ours.

Yes we Americans have been call a lot of names, arrogant, snobbish, egotistical, self-important, condescending and many more that do not come to mind right now. Yes we have our faults as does every other nation in the world. We have made mistakes in foreign policy at times as well as domestic policy, but this is still the best country in the world to live in. Let another country suffer a major disaster and who is the one of the first if not the first to come to their aid. What I have always said, if you don’t like it here and how things are being done you can try and work to change things, or you can always live the USA and move to a country that suits your wants and needs.

Preach on Brother Jason, but should practice what you are preaching. The term "teabagger" is a vile, derogatory term. Look it up on urbandictionary.com if you don't believe me. Other than that I'm in agreement with you. Again, preach on.
