Sundog Detailing
This race is the pinnacle of my summer of endurance racing, all the training, the 24 hour race, and hour upon hour in the saddle comes down to this. I will be leaving the start line at 9 AM tomorrow morning, I will let you all know how it goes if I survive when I get back on Sunday. I am hoping to complete it in 14-14.5 hrs. mikegeaney
That is bad A$$. I need to get to Alaska. Not that I'd try to tackle something like this. I just figure it would be a nice place to kick back, drink a few beers, and smoke a stogie or two....pretty much what I do here, just someplace else. Good luck in the race! Toms94
I'm not showing my daughter this thread, as she'll want to go there next year. That looks like a killer course, have fun.
Sundog Detailing
I am disappointed to report that I had too bail out at the 77 mile checkpoint due to weather. Out of the 51 riders only about 10-12 finished, and they were the elite racers and got in before the storm really hit. I had the physical ability to finish but the trail conditions were the worst anyone has ever seen on the trail and the medic advised me I was on the verge of hypothermia. Sorry to let you all down, next year I will come back stronger and better prepared.
StormChaser
Tiag, better to be safe than sorry!!! Hey a member on here in Eagle River should be contacting you about In and Out spray. I wasn't sure if you actually had any in stock. Apparently they wont ship it via AIR. He should be in contact with u.
Adam
Right on Taig, and are there any photos from the event? Next year is a new year, and what can we do about the weather my friend?!
Team Adam's
Taig, you at least had the guts to try it... I on the other hand don't. That right there my friend speaks volumes about your level of commitment to it. No sense in risking serious injury.
whiterp199
Way to go. I would not really call that bailing out. I would say I took a medical professionals advice and had to stop.
