Usage of Brilliant Spray Glaze

swexlin

Question

Picked up some BSG at the All Chyrsler Nationals last month. Still trying to figure out the best way to use it. Most of the time, in between waxing (I've been using Buttery Wax on the Superbee SRT8), I just use Detail Spray and/or Megs 34 Final Inspection.

I tried some of the BSG today. I see you don't need much, but to tell the truth, while it does make the paint look very nice, I don't see much advantage over just using detail spray to make the paint "pop"? What am I doing wrong?

I guess I'll try using the pad! Maybe my eyes just aren't good enough, but I'm trying to justify using the BSG over just a good wax and detail spray job. I'll try it on the Viper next weekend, and report back on the results.

Brilliant Spray Glaze works great on my Atomic Metallic Orange

Get a PC and use the Machine Super Wax.... you'll love it that much more!

:pc:

Many people RAVE about Buttery Wax and would never do their cars with a PC. Don't get me wrong. I have a :pc:and would't trade it for the world, but pc's aren't for everyone.

After MSW and washes I'd rather apply Americana. It pops as much if not more. I agree with swexlin, I have a very difficult time justifing BSG's use. American goes on much easier and wipes off much easier. And you don't have to wait for it to haze. Time is always of the essence and I don't have time for BSG.

Not everyone can justify $70 for paste wax.

The products may give the same result, but there is more too it. Don't forget, there is such a thing as TOO MUCH wax. Multiple multiple coats of Americana could begin to haze and not look so clean. BSG is not durable at all, and therefore could be applied all the time, since it probably won't be on the surface after a week or so.

I use BSG as a final show prep.

agreed and it took me a long time to pull the trigger on Americana. Even after I did I was skeptical but then I saw the results . I'll never use anything else again. If you can save your loose change for a year or so and get some it's well worth it.

yeah spray it on the pad and apply like a wax you can rub it on in any direction though i let it haze up like kingsford says like 15 to 30 minutes a little longer if its really humid then wipe off with a microfiber towel and walla lol

This is how I apply BSG

Are you letting it dry to a haze?

... I use it after I put on MSW and it gives it that extra depth. Sometimes I will use it after I just wash it. I always use the foam microfiber to apply and then wait about 20-30 minutes to remove. Remember to spray the pad and not the car.

I have been spraying directly on the car - I'll try the pad. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it doesn't look good, I just can't see any difference between it and just using the detail spray.

FFK, I'll try your way and see what happens. Thanks.

LOL! I thought this was my thread... I posted a very similar question about BSG this morning.

http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7985

And so far the answers to this thread have been of no help. Other than the fact you applied BSG incorrectly. The directions on the bottle say use a MF pad... LOL.

I'd like someone to show me a car that has too much AMERICANA. Because if anyone should have seen this problem I should.

I've used 3/4 of the tub on my car this year (7mos) and there isn't any haze. I wax with Americana every other week.

Do what I did using Americana for the 1st time...

Leave it on for approx. 1 Hr and see what happens

Americana is a great wax, however, buff it off almost immediately for a great looking shine and protection.

I almost couldn't buff it out on my 1st try

I'm showing the Viper tomorrow, so I'll try some of the BSG after I get to the show as a last step. However, I have been trying it on my Detonator Yellow SRT8, and I'm starting to be convinced. As a "final step", it does seem to make the color "pop" in the sun.

The directions I believe say spray on the pad. If you spray on the vehicle it seems to dry right away and you use way more of the product. The pad allows it to spread evenly.

What kind of pad? The blue micro fiber pads or hand flop with blue side.
