JerseyGator
Having a real problem fitting in BSG to my car care upkeep. I'd much rather glide on a fresh coat of Americana and wipe off immediately (and VERY easily). Than put on a coat of BSG. Wait for it to haze and then take it off. Not so easily. The fact that I'm HOOKED on Americana doesn't help. I think any time is good time to us it. It' just so easy and quick.
IMADreamer
I feel the same way. I actually rarely use my BSG, it's the one Adam's product I'm not really sold on.
b_pappy
Oh well. It's one of my favorites, use it on glass, chrome and paint. Quick & easy bang for the buck, and I use it on top of Americana. Bruce

Good to know I'm not the only one that isn't a big fan of BSG. Oh well. It's one of my favorites, use it on glass, chrome and paint. Quick & easy bang for the buck, and I use it on top of Americana.Bruce Easy? I'm no wimp, but my arm got fatigued applying BSG with MF pad. (Could also be the MF pad. I don't think they are easy to use either. I'm spoiled by the hand grips on the other applicators.) Then wiping it off with my MF super plush towel was no picnic either. The towel kept dragging and rolling over under my hand. Quick? Americana and DS are quick. Anything you have to wait to haze over, isn't quick. On White you might not notice the ''pop'' that I get on my Black with BSG! Sometimes I HATE the fact my car is white! Anyone local want my BSG? I thought one of the ideas behind BSG was to use after washes in between waxes??
IMADreamer
I thought one of the ideas behind BSG was to use after washes in between waxes?? That's the idea, but I feel like atleast on my car, I don't notice the difference. If the car has been recently polished, is nicely washed I feel the Americana keeps showing how great it is after MANY washes, adding BSG doesn't seem to add to the pop. I feel the same way about Buttery and MSW, both are great without the aid of BSG. Now I'm not at all saying BSG is bad and some people with certain colors get great results. For what ever reason I just don't feel it adds much to my detailing bag.

XQIZT
Since there are 2 threads on BSG, I'll post here too. Yes, the waxes are VERY easy to apply. But keep in mind that multiple coats build up over time and could cause some clouding/haze over time. BSG has very low durability and I really only use it to extra "pop" the surface right before a show. But one wash, and its gone, whereas the wax layer remains. IMHO. Captain Slow
Reformulating the BSG now, and for the reasons listed above! Stay tuned my friends. . . . . I'm not sure how you're going to improve on this product, but woohoo! I used BSG for the first time last night. I am impressed with this product. I have used Megs #7 Show Car Glaze over the years and am comparing the two. I'd use the BSG if I had to make a choice. Oh wait, I did make a choice! It is so much easier to apply and wipe off. Last nights high temperature and stifling humidity was a great test too. Today in the sun my G8 GT is sparkling!
TR6speed
An improved BSG. This I have to see. I love it and use it a lot. As mentioned to many coats of wax will have a tendency to cloud up the finish. I use the BSG in between wax jobs and also just before a show for the added pop. It is always in my detail bag. Team Adam's
I agree with the BSG lovers... one of my favorite products. Over the HAN week there was a woody in our booth and it had amazing chrome work on the bumpers, grill, wheels, and spare tire cover... a quick hand application of BSG made it really POP... the owners came back after and simply couldn't believe how good it looked and it wasn't like the car was in rough shape to start with. The new BSG flies in the face of "if it aint' broke don't fix it" philosophy. Theres NOTHING wrong with the current version IMO, but we are gonna make it even better!! The new stuff has impressed me thus far.

I still can't believe there wasn't a revolt about the I&O release. From what I understand, they were gathering pitchforks and torches.

Doug123
If the BSG is dragging a bit during removal, I might suggest that it is 1.) put on a little thick and/or 2.) not quite dry yet. I think on humid evenings it might drag a little on removal, but I mostly attribute the drag to my haste to get it off (before it's fully dry) and admire the highlights. It gives the black finish a little bigger sparkle on those bright white reflections (like white highlights/stars in a photo) I applied it on a warm day in a thin coat, and then removed it when it was dry, it came right off. GPDAN
I love bsg, and have to say it looks great on my magnetic grey paint and chrome. Just knowing that bsg is going to be even better gets me excited.

Could have been too thick and it was an extremely humid night, but definitely dry. Thanks for the input! I'm going to give it another try.
Crooz1n
I have ,in the past kinda poo pooed the BSG but i gave it another try last weekend. I was prepping for a show on Saturday and had washed and waxed the ole girl up, (and the Vette too). I used the buttery wax and thought I was gonna be done as I typically keep her pretty cleaned up anyway. I then read on here that it can take a while for BSG to really haze up and dry good. The humidity here has been killer for weeks so I knew that was making a difference in the cure time. So at 10 pm i decided to put a coat of BSG on. With some trepidation I even coated the windshield and rear glass. It took about 15 minutes and then i closed the garage and went to bed. The next morning I go to the garage and the BSG wipes off really easy and the shine was noticeably better. I got several compliments during the show Saturday about how much shinier she looked than usual. I think after my re evaluation BSG is a keeper. TR6speed
OK for those that are not sold on BSG here are a few pictures I took about an hour ago. I put a coat of BSG on about 8:00 am today gave it about a half hour to dry and than a quick wipe down. Nothing else, no Detail Spray, no Americana just BSG. Also in the engine bay on the painted and Carbon Fiber pieces.
