I&O Spray not sticking to handles.

Kingsford

Question

I used I&O on my Door handles and tailgate handle along with my grille, cowl, bed rails, bumper and mirrors.

It seemed to stick on everything at first but today when I went outside the handles were dull again but behind the handle (where your fingers go to pull) it is still shiny. I sprayed with again and it looked shiny, wiped off the excess and went to work. After work the handles were dull again....

Am I doing something wrong?

Because I took my last bottle of VRT and split it into two bottles and made it 50/50 water

Plus its water proof.... See

5 hours of rain and this is what happened.

No running onto the paint, still black and still shiny!

thats my point, the vrt is what you should use because its waterproof and lasts a long time.

get you another bottle of vrt

In & Out is really only intended to be used when you simply can't fit an applicator into a tight space or its too intricate of an area to apply a product by hand. If you can hit the area with VRT, then do that... save the In & Out for the areas its needed.

Seems like whatever the composition of this surface is it doesn't like the spray.

why not just use VRT?

why not just use VRT? I love the way it looks on handles and mirrors. What I do is put some on all everything and then do the windows and then go back and rub it in with the back of the foam block and then rub them down with a cheapy micro fiber towel real good to get any extra. They dont run and they look real black.

the new vrt is fantastic!!!! and it lasts great durability. my f350 mirrors love it!

I tried the APC on the Handle, followed by the I&O. The I&O seemed to make it shine but when I wiped it down roughly 1 minute later the I&O came right off of the plastic.

Am I not letting it dry long enough?

I mean the I&O is great for everything else. My Grille, Cowl, Bed Rails, and Rear Bumper Step is look nice and shiny and I only let that dry for about 30 seconds and never even sprayed it with APC.

I threw some SVRT on there for the time being to make it look like the rest of the truck, that way it doesnt stand out. I plan to do a full detail one of these coming weekends, for sure by Labor Day. I will try again then.

Keep the ideas coming!

Its because you live in IL :jester:

If I could control that I would haha.

Or the previous products you used on them.

Chris

I used to use Armor All on it but I stopped using that about 2 years ago because all it did was run. I used VRT on it once a few months ago.

I've got an idea Jason! Take some APC, and spray a towel. Clean the parts of the truck that are not taking the I&O well. Allow to dry, then give it another spray!

Take before and after shots, and post them please!!

WILL DO CHIEF! :patriot:

I'll do it first thing in the AM.

:D
