i took the plunge and found myself a new daily driver. carpooling with the wife got irritating hearing about all the miles shes racking up on her SRX (blah, blah, blah, blah....) and of course i wasn't going to drive the camaro everyday!!!
was looking for a nice used 07 or newer chevy or gmc pickup, could not find what i wanted used so i struck a deal and got a 2010 new "Texas Edition" silverado for $7k under MSRP!!!! i chose white because its one of the easiest color to keep clean, and it will spend its entire life outdoors, like a truck should! they had black, but then i imagined the future and all the cursing i would be yelling at all the swirls i'll find!!!
anyways, i made the dealership remove their dealer stickers, but i did not trust them to even vacuum the thing! so i opted to leave the truck dirty and all badges in tact.
i washed and vacuumed it today, and plan on doing the trim and condition the interior tomorrow. this thing has A LOT of chome on it, much more than i'm used to... so i'll be buying some metal polish soon!
i've got plans to add chrome tow hooks, fog lights, and rear fender well liners. i have a buddy in Houston that quoted me $200 for a spray in bed liner!!! i made the dealership remove the drop in liner. the drop in liner saved me $350 at the dealer, and i'm getting a spray in one for $150 less!!!
back to the subject at hand: i've never "debadged" a vehicle before, and i want to remove all the emblems off the tailgate and front fenders. got any tips or tricks on how to do this?
