Started a paint correction on an 04 black DTS, with medium swirls all over, and some deeper scratches in various places. after claying I inspected and found a few scratches that I could feel with my nail and knew they wouldn't come all the way out w/o wet sanding and possibly going through the clear =/ I started on the trunk lid, there were no scratches that I could feel but man the clear is alot harder than I expected it to be. I have done 15 passes on the trunk lid w/ SHR and orange pad and the clear is only about 70% corrected, this is not a DD so I am wanting to achieve as close to 100% as possible. the small scratches that I can feel I'm not too worried about, they can be dealt with at a later date when I am certain of the depth of the clear. I didn't think I would need the yellow pad but I guess I will need to order it. Does anyone else experience the SHR "dusting" once its been broken down? It's not really an issue I just didnt think that it would do that, atleast I didnt see it doing that in AJ's vids. I also am AMAZED that AJ could correct the hood or half the hood of his el camino with only 3 pea sized drops of product. I started with 3 slightly larger than pea size drops and it lasted maybe 3 passes on half the trunk lid and it was not in nearly as bad shape as AJ's el camino. I misted the pad with DS before each pass but after 3 passes the product was used up, no haziness at all on the paint after 3 passes. does SHR work in and use up faster in 85 degree weather? I have the 4" pads so I'm going to see what the 4" yellow pad does. So how do you guys re-load the pad? because I added another 3 same size drops and used till no more product would haze back up after a misting of the pad before each pass AND then when I repeated the process for the 3rd time it seemed like the pad was either clogged up or too moist to do anything. maybe its the heat or humidity level but I am definitely not getting near as much use out of the product as I've seen in AJ's video's. so basically I cant find a medium point when re-loading the pad and when misting the pad between passes, pad either gets clogged or too damp BUT there is no more product on the paint so what am I suppose to do??
