Waterless Wash-have no fear of scratches!

Captain Slow

Question

I see the occasional post here and on the G8 boards I haunt regarding Waterless Car Wash (among others) and scratches. There is a fear (unfounded) that the use of this (or the other products) will cause scratching in the finish. Of course improper use of ANY product will lead to poor results. If you've been out muddin' or followed that manure spreader down a country lane a little too closely than definitely use the hose and buckets. Following the instructions on the bottle and/or by watching both Adam and AJ using it will however lead to happy shiny results.:D

Last month (July 12 & 13) I gave my DD some serious Adamizing. http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7619

Since then I have kept it's appearance up with occasional use of a California Duster and Waterless Car Wash followed by Adam's Detail Spray. I then received my Judges Kit and have added BSG to the equation. Yesterday she was looking a little manky, so I decided to give her a quick no-rinse bath followed by BSG. I made sure to take a photo in the 'light of truth' to show any possible adverse effects from using WCW. There are none:

Note: Running parallel to the spoiler is a remnant from a really deep scratch courtesy of a good samaratin clearing snow off my car....:(

After I washed a section I dried it and then applied BSG. Removing BSG with the super soft Adam's MF towel is so easy. The luster left behind after removing BSG is awesome:

Here you can see I need to power wash, fill the cracks and seal the driveway.

Here you can see the little project my wife did this past week; removed sod and put down mulch around the Rose of Sharon.

Here is the shady side showing my flower bed (such as it is...) and more cars from the baby shower down the street:

Waterless Car Wash is a safe and effective way to keep your car/truck/SUV, etc clean. I believe in it so much I bought a gallon of it.

Brilliant Spray Glaze has replaced my Meg's #7 as the secret ingredient in my shine arsenal. I see there is a new Brilliant Glaze coming though I don't know how you could improve on it. I give BSG :2thumbs:.

As for the new Brilliant Glaze:lurk: I'll be waiting....

School me here. Why use Brilliant Spray Glaze over Americana instead of just re-applying a fresh coat of Americana?

The real reason I used BSG was I recently got my Adam's Judges Kit and wanted to try out the BSG.

Too many layers of wax can lead to hazing and clouding over time for some people. Your results may differ. Americana is quite durable and really doesn't wash off as readily as BSG.

Charlie, Like mentioned above wax can build up after time, the BSG is used like before a show to give you that extra pop but it won't build up because it will wash off in a short time.Hope this helps!

^Yeah, what they said. ^ Next time I'm going to try BSG topped with Americana. I'm having way too much fun experimenting with the Adam's product line. :willy::willy:

thanks for the clarification.

I've been reading some posts here about the Brilliant Glaze and have a few thoughts.

Could the BG go on top of buttery wax if there was a day between the buttery wax application and removal and the Brilliant Glaze application?

With my test car (2006 HHR 2LT) I followed all the steps (proper wash, clay, rewash, SHR, RP, two coats of buttery wax) then let the car sit until the next day. The car has been in the garage and I've been wiping it down with DS whenever I walk by it (almost daily). I was thinking that maybe I could put the Brilliant Glaze on and then seal it with Americana or another layer of Buttery. Thoughts?

As far as the BSG, those of you that use it, do you hand or machine polish?

If machine, do you use it after or in place of the Fine Machine Polish?

If hand, do you use it after or in place of the Revive Polish?

It will not take the place of either one of those. Those two polishes have correcting properties, they remove the fine scratches. BSG (or BG) contains fillers, so it only fills (or covers up) very fine imperfections. Now if you have completed corrected the paint, topping your MSW or Americana with BSG will really make it shine, but it will be gone before you wash again.

Dylan has been applying BG over Americana, adding a little durability to the BG, but then you lose the Americana quicker (IMO).

I love the Waterless wash. I use after driving to or from my house in Atlanta to my parents' place in Florida. It gets the bugs off easily and doesn't scratch.

Thanks dudes. I guess I thought that you would never need to top Americana with anything as I didn't know you could even possibly add more "pop" than what Americana already gives you.

Actually I think topping the glaze with Americana is better... Dylan taught me that one and I used it last week. Both however work VERY well. Then new (not yet released) glaze even more so.

Think of glaze as a filler... If you have ANY slight imperfections, the glaze will fill them and make them either disappear or look much less obtuse.

It's great stuff that I don't get to use to often... Only when I'm trying to impress.:D

Great add Paul! If you loved the BSG, the new Glaze will have you drooling! I've been playing with it for a few weeks now, its an amazing formula! The problem is I've glazed everything in sight; and I'm below half a bottle of it!
