Americana Wax question.

BlackSS

Question

Recommended Posts

Good Lord, I thought the car itself was going to be the biggest expense. I had no Idea what I was getting into. :help:

Yea... this detailing thing gets to be an obsession...

but look on the bright side - it could be worse. This hobby gets you out of the house, gets you some exercise, and its fun.

I'm just asking because from what I have read the waxes with a high percentage of carnauba supposedly give your paint the deep soft look, unlike the shallow mirror finish of sealants. Just wanting to be sure before I drop $80 bucks on wax.

That is true, but it has very little to do with the percentages.

The carnuba content of Americana is pretty high as compared to most other products in its category, but that lends it self more to the protection of the paint than it does for defining 'depth'.

Also, like I said before, no need to sweat it... you've got a 110% money back guarantee on it... no other wax company is going to offer you that. Buy it, try it, and if its not everything we claim it is return it and actually make money!

We got him convinced. Now we have to remember to bug him for pics of that black SS after it gets delivered and its first coat of Americana...LOL

It is supposed to be built this week but no VIN# yet. :xfingers:

I'm trying to get all my stuff together for when she arrives. I will be placing an order for the Americana wax. What else do I need? Interior, window etc.

Funny question..at least to me. Because I sort of thought the same thing. What do i need..can't be more than a bottle of detail spray some car wash and some wax right? But soon..very soon..after trying some of the produts and reading and seeing their results, and growing that detail obsession, you find yourself with a growing cabinet full of..well..most of Adams products. Because they're all seemingly just that good. I'm up to MSW, FMP, APC, GWC,SVRT, a PC, wash mitt, MF towels (and will be ordering ..real soon hopefully) foam gun, in/out, gallons of DS, APC, window cleaner, and GC, and clay.

Ahh..it's a fun fun addiction I tell ya. Welcome to the playhouse. :pc:

I try not to think about what I spent in the last few months...LOL

But ya know what? I got what I paid for! My car looks great, many of friends can see at night now, lol, and there are at least three summer cars awaiting winter storage for me to pick away at.

Now I have aquestion that just occured to me. Greg is getting his ride fresh from the factory in Oshawa. Is factory paint good to go for waxing etc?

I know after market paint jobs, the suggested wait is around 90 days. Never had a car a week or so out of the factory so it never occured to me.

Since they bake the paint I'm pretty sure I'm good to go with caly and wax. My brother-in-law ran a very successful body shop for 25 years before he passed away (r.i.p.) and he had a down draft paint booth/ oven he could spray the car turn on the heat for 20 mins and bring it out and then buff.

Greg, as soon as you get your car home from the dealer, CLAY the entire car. Reason to do this is because when the car is shipped by rail, it will get rail dust all over it. If not removed it can damage the clear coat.

Also, do not let the dealer, "detail", wash, or do any other prep to surface of the car. If they do,it may cause swirls, fine scratches and other imperfections.

Good luck.

Greg,

I agree with everyone else. The Americana is a great wax.

Americana goes on and can be removed with very little effort. :2thumbs:

Have they applied the paint sealant yet?? If not, you might want to reconsider IMO

I think a few coats of the Americana would out do the paint sealant from the dealership.

Wait until you see how your cars paint looks after using Americana and then you will wonder why you wasted $$ on the paint sealant. :D

Greg it will be the best $ you ever spend on wax.. I have never seen a wax that does anything to WHITE like Americana.. and on my black Mazda it just made it unbelievable..

I did the tape test. I taped a 1' square on my hood and did it with Americana, then called my wife outside to look at the truck.. Her words " Why is there a really shiny spot on the hood?

You really cant go wrong, you get 110% Guarantee and a fleet of people here who have used it.. You will love it.. and it goes a LONG way!

Try it and I'm sure you will like it, but no need to take my word for it, Adam guarantees it with his 110% money back guarantee :2thumbs:

Yeap... If you don't like it you'll get your money back + 10%. so you'd actually make money if you didn't like the product.
