Kornercarver
I seem to have stumbled into a treasure trove of old pictures today. Here are a few I took at the US Grand Prix, Watkins Glen, NY in 1971. If I recall correctly, the victor that day was Francois Cevert. That victory was his only win in Formula !. The #31 McLaren was driven by none other than David Hobbs and was entered by Roger Penske.

spooner1959
Hi, That are some old pictures. I still remember when I lived in Amsterdam Holland , we went to Zandvoort , the circuit to watch Formula one races. When I was 11 years old I saw Piers Courage crashing , was not a nice thing to see and I still remember it , all the black smoke and the ambulances. That was a back day in Formula 1 racing , later I went a couple times to Spa Francorchamps Belgium. Thanks for sharing your pics , here's the link to that crash: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piers_Courage

Marylander
Awesome! I have some great memories of Watkins Glen myself; around 1991 a buddy and I went up there to camp on the infield and watch the Porsche 956s battle it out with the Jaguar team and all the other IMSA Nissans, Mazdas, etc. I think Walter Payton was running an Olds Quad4-based car in one of the races, too. Great times!
