What do you guys do in your free time away from work or school or whatever it is you do?

 

I play on the internet a lot (obviously), spend quality time with my truck on the weekends, and of course.... never ending school. I am also a big movie fan.

 

I have way to much free time right now and am super bored. I need some ideas.

 

2 words.... FARM - TOWN

I dated a girl who lived in Plainfield, which is aside from some sub divisions, a farm town too. At times it was relaxing because it was dead silent and no light at night so you could see the stars perfectly which is something you just don't get in the city.

 

However you were at least a 15-20 min drive from EVERYTHING!!! It drove me absolutely crazy :willy:

 

I also have family in Iowa. Everyone refers to me as "the city boy" and I am 100% O.K. with that.

 

So I do feel your pain to an extent.

Outside of work...Depends on the time of year is to what I do.

 

Bike Riding (Trek Mountain Bike)

Computers

Detailing Cars and Trucks

Farming

Gardening

Movies/Theatre

Photography

Reading

Spending time with family and friends

Sports (watching)

Turning wrenches

Yardwork (mowing and landscaping)

Walking

I know what you mean. I live about 20 minutes from everything but I do enjoy the peace and quiet. Another reason I like it is that you know your neighbors and they are willing to give you a helping hand when you need help.

I started to save more money than spending. How? Simple, buy some Adam's products, and your staying home 60% of the time. :D

 

Althought I'm around couple of forums, but Adam's forums pinned me down. :willy: I usually cruise around, race some random peeps and stuff but not anymore. Started playing some MMOPG games again :lolsmack:, had a better connection with my family < for reals.. haha :jester:

 

I try to impress them by using Adam's products on the furniture... :glasses:

If I am not at work or on one of the forums that I hang out on then I like to be doing stuff outdoors.

 

I crashed last year on my ATV and then we sold them and bought the Polaris RZR. We try to get out on it as much as possible.

 

We also try to get out on the boat at least once a week which is tough.

 

Lately, all my free time has been packing boxes and remodeling the house we are buying.

Farm town, you northern Illinois guys have no idea what a farm town is. lol

 

 

Anyway, my hobbies other then keeping my car shiny include making cars go fast (do a lot of EFI tuning for people in the area), scratch building 1/64 scale farm equiptment, and restoring full sized old tractors. I'm currently searching for a muscle car to restore though, never done that before, I've only worked on newer cars and I think it's something I want to try.

 

Surprisingly the only time I am on the internet is when I'm at work. No I'm not the worlds biggest slacker, it's just my job has intervals in which work has to be done and once you get it done there is about 20 minutes before you have the next thing to do. So that is how I spend time on the Adam's forum.

I spend some time usually during work on the internet, not so much when I'm home though. I like to go outside and wipe down one of my cars, then usually roam around the garden for a bit. I'm a big fan of crossword puzzles, and like to get the occasional Scrabble game going when I can. I have a bunch of video games, but seldom ever even turn on a system. Recently I have watched with my GF 1st two seasons of Rome, all 5 seasons of The Wire, and ordered the complete series of Deadwood, but it hasn't arrived yet. I really enjoyed Pillars Of The Earth which was just a mini series on STARZ network. I spend some time with sisters when I can, and see my father on occasion. I go out to the movies sort of often, and definitely go out to eat a lot. Before my GF was back in the picture I would head into NYC for some good nights of over indulgences and excess everything!

I like digital photography, reading, movies, friends and family. I love traveling but had to cut that out due to finances.

 

Soooooo until then I spend my time at home and when I am here I am usually on here, tbssowners.com & silveradoss.com.

 

I agree that when I am home I don't spend as much money ....even though I am buying Adams! :) Speaking of buying Adams...I saw a sale....Gotta go shop!
