Hey everyone! I'm Mike, I've lived in Virginia Beach all of my life and I'm a full time ODU business student. I'm a Ford guy at heart, but I drool just as hard as any if I see a sweet looking ride that's detailed right!
I'm still relatively new to detailing. I was introduced to Adams quite a few years ago when my dad got a detail spray sample form a car show a few years ago, man that stuff smells awesome! I haven't made my own first Adams purchase yet though. I've been using Meguiar's products due to the cheap price and me not knowing any better. My buddy Chris, who is on these forums, has started to convince me to make the switch. I've seen him using nothing but Adam's products on his cars and truck and I've always seen him get awesome results, better than any Meguiar's stuff. I'm kinda envious. lol I'm in the market to get started, at least with the basics. The paint on my T-bird isn't in the best of shape though, but I do have my mom's new Blue Candy colored Ford Fiesta that I could keep looking awesome.
The only buffer I have is a rotary, that's all I really know how to work with. To my understanding, a rotary is one of the hardest buffers to handle/master. I plan to get a Flex one of these days, but the dough I get to work with is very tight, so that might take me a while. So yeah, here I am. I'm looking to learn a little more about the fine art of detailing and get to know what real detail products are like!
Told ya they are way better buddy! Next time use my username to quote who the badass was that introduced you to the worlds best products and customer service! JK...Adams is the best business in the world!

Chris we should get some Adams fanatics together
Whenever bud, I'm always just hanging out on weekends!

John I know.. Colorado is a great place ..have friends that live there and they love it. My wife even mention Colorado.
If it wasnt for the HIGH taxes and cost of living here I would stay.
My job is secure ..for now.
I'm sure we will see each other this season ..counting on it! Want to see the finished Silverado!
Chris .. if you get back this way you should let us know ..we can have a quick Adams meet ..LOL!
I will be back in the summer! I always bring my bag home!

I can't get away with detail spray, I have to take waterless wash. If I drive more than a few miles the back end and lower panels of my car are too dirty for detail spray. So waterless wash (after everything cools down). Then maybe a quick coat of BG or a detail spray wipe down. Touch up the tires, wheels and fender wells. Keep her clean as long as you can safely without inducing swirls...
Same way with the mustang, all the dust and debris clings to the rear bumper. Shot of waterless wash and wipe down with detail spray good to go!!!!

I was thinking about getting Detail Spray, APC, and maybe Car Shampoo. Hell I wish In and Out Spray came in a 5 gallon spray container

:lolsmack: Next time you're up in this part of the country, let's have a math contest then!
Thanks Mook, now I'm going to go count my crayons, 60 came in the old school Crayola box right?
-
YUP! I have had that number for over 10yrs, there's no way I'm changing it now, besides I finally just now memorized the number without having to grab my phone and figure it!

Atleast every weekend, I dont normally have the time during the week and having to work nights. I try not to go more than two weeks without a wash and touch up.
-
Thanks Chris I appreciate that!
Wife and I talked about Virginia, & North & South Carolina.
I mentioned to her Colorado and Texas.
Trumbull is a nice town but also has become over taxed and overrated. Lived here all my life.
We have these new renters next door that make my life miserable. LOL!
Plus the more I make the more the state and town takes away from me.
No problem like I said give me a buzz whenever I am always awake anyway, and I work nights so no biggie. I can fill you in on Va and North Carolina. Both are very nice, let me know bud.
-
Chris how do you like it down there?
I live in Trumbull..been living here for 43 years. Now looking to get the heck out of CT.
The state really stinks now.. overrated, overtaxed and the Gov is the anti Christ.
Been looking at many states curious how it is down that way.
I hear ya man, my rents left Bridgpeort as soon as I joined and moved to Trumbull and they enjoy it much more. I have been down here for 9yrs now and I have no complaints whatsoever, I love it. If you want to know more info and what not let me know or give me a buzz anytime, 2035202092

Thanks for a great write-up! Very fair, and Sonax was one of the main products we aimed to out-perform....while maintaining 100% safety.
Again, thanks for an accurate and fair comparison!
I feel honored to have the master himself comment on the thread I also have commented on

I, myself have been watching for these to come back in stock. Waiting since I am forming my summer order that I want to place in a month or so. Hoping they are back in stock by then!

Just stay patient during the whole process! As John said if you start to get fustrated take a step back and evaluate! It is actually a fun process because you stay busy and you learn another automotive skill. Any questions during the process just jump on here and ask, pictures help also. I started with the PC also and got awesome results, I bought the Flex a few weeks ago and man it cuts the time in half but I am glad I was able to start on the PC and learn the basics! Shine on my friend!

It's still in testing, but rest assured, when we think its ready, you'll be able to grab some!
Mook
I volunteer to test it!!

hmm 427 Vette!
-
Cant wait for the release and hope its soon!
-
Hmm interrrrresting! I think the Adams gave the wheel more of a shine when done compared to Sonax! To me I would rather have Adams but thats just my opinion.
-
I now want Patriot!

It was 70 here in Va Beach yesterday and by next week we will start to stay in the 60's consistently, so detailing season for the customers starts again:rockon:

I do find it funny that he hasnt been back on the forum. I have used Griots Products also, however, they are sold in Advance Auto Parts and the market price isnt worth the product in my own opinion. Adams to me is just the best!
-
Also I lived in Bridgeport 18yrs before joining Navy and my rents still live in Trumbull. Whole family is from Fairfield County. Hows the weather?!

I have no patience John , I am addictedddddddd

I saw a thread by the Shine Crew where they listed what they used on a jeep at the warehouse and I saw Adams Prototype Compound and Adams Prototype Finishing Polish! Anyone have any clue or ideas about when these products are coming out????? I hope they release the interior detailer, compound, and polish all at the same time!
ANYONE HAVE ANY QUICK SEALANT LEFT?!!
in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Posted
Was wondering if any of your fine Americans have any quick sealant left. I ran out and it was the best stuff for matte black wheels. I have been searching for something else to use but have had no luck. I was hoping someone had some cans left I could purchase!
