  1. Looks great!! Is that VRT on the tires?

Yes! My favorite tire dressing by far. Always turns out DARK and dry to the touch. SVRT on tires and Quick sealant on rims is the 1-2 punch IMO.

Oh and I forgot to mention there is Adam's Glass Sealant on the windshield too :D

Really like the ease of application. I even applied it on my Gravely mower.....yes I sealed the paint on my mower.

    I don't have a mower...but if I did...I'd detail it. I do have a vacum though...

  2. I have quick sealant AND machine super sealant. Right now I have quick sealant on my wheels and machine super sealant on my paint. Anyone notice any differences between the two when used on paint? I have a customer wanting some protection on their new car and am debating between either the quick sealant or the machine sealant. Are they relatively the same on durability? I really liked the ease of application of the machine sealant with the new grey pad though :D

  3. I did an interior detail today and was very impressed (yet again) with the carpet and upholstery cleaner. I put it side by side with another product and the Adam's one pulled up way more dirt. Will definitely be buying a gallon soon. This was after one pass on the driver's side floor...

I ended up keeping a bucket of hot water nearby and would soak my brush in there first before scrubbing on the carpet. Seemed to work really well.

  4. Yes - he's referring to those gaps.  I use 3/4" automotive masking tape (green stuff) to close them up if it's a car that I'm not doing a final rinse on.  If I'm doing a final rinse, I don't sweat taping off the gaps.

OK, thanks. Anyone mask around the perimeters of their headlights and tailights as well?

  5. Dress the rubber/plastic and tape the body panel gaps.  I taped some gaps my first time and got polish residue dusting some areas the first time the car saw rain.

What is the best way to apply the tape to the body panel gaps? Any pictures? And are you referring to the gaps between door/hood and fender for example?

  6. How important is it to mask the rubber trim before polishing? I've always done it but was intrigued to find in one of Dylan's videos him mentioning to just dress/protect the rubber before hand and therefore the polish residue will not stick to it. I personally hate masking and it's always a tedius, annoying thing for me during the detail!

  7. I really like this product as well and only after using it for one quick test! I have a shop vac, interior stiff carpet brush, and tons of microfiber towels to use. So far just wiping away with microfiber towel after carpet is agitated as per the instructional videos. Has anyone experimented with hosing down their mats with water after the product is agitated? Then drying with wet vac?

I'm also curious about extractors or any other hardware to take carpet cleaning to the next step beyond just product, brush, and towels. Or, if that is producing great results for most people I may just stick with that and save the money! Anyone use a different product in conjuction with the Carpet and Upholstry Cleaner for isolated heavy stains that may need a bit more?

  8. It's actually amazing how much detail spray alone makes water bead.  I washed a friends car and did a detail spray whipe down to dry.  the car has not seen wax in years, and was pleased to see that it had some beading.

My car is beading like crazy and it only has factory wax from the dealer from 9 months ago and my usual detail spray applications after each wash. The car was brand new when I got it so the fact that it's clean, great condition paint, even just detail spray makes it pop! That being said, it's time I finally strip it, seal, and wax my way. :2thumbs:
  9. Hey there! My name is Ben and I've been slowly getting into the world of automotive detailing since I got my new car in October of 2012. I drive a '13 VW GTI and am pretty active on the vw forums. I found myself posting a lot on the "exterior and interior cleaning" section and was soon bit by the "detailing bug!" Since then, I've been working towards starting up a side business for friends and family and am just about to launch! My full time job is a professional musician/educator (percussion) and detailing cars is a new passion for me and looks to be a fun hobby on the side!

Here's my living room right now and I have about 4 more orders arriving this week including 3 mystery boxes from Adam's!rockon.gif

I think what really got me started was watching the Volume 7 series by Adam's and then that led to hours upon hours of youtube research.
