OK, so did the 2 step process, worked great. Now what.....I assume I now need to wax the car? Poliah isn't protecting, just correcting, correct?

I'm new to detailing, though watching all the Adams videos, I'm 100% comfortable taking my new Cyclone and polishes to my baby. Question, I want to do my paint correction, get rid of swirl marks, get it shined up to spend the winter in garage covered. How long should I wait be fore putting cover on once completed detailing?  Do products need to cure without cover on it?
