Well, I'll be polishing it outside anyway haha. I plan to polish in the shade, then turn it around in the sun etc. It's a pain, but worth it. 

Thanks for the replies guys! I believe the truck was one step corrected, then glazed. That would hide the holograms, yes? It would explain why it's gotten worse over time. They were just hidden and it needs a full correction. Sound reasonable?

Gotcha. Yeah, it only gets touched with a clean mitt now. I got this fear that the salt may have effected the clear in some way, but it seems like it just needs a solid full correcting, which I plan to do. Thank you guys for the help!

That's an interesting thought, and seems very possible! Im planning to strip it completely and correct it myself this coming week. Im afraid of continuing to have this issue, but fillers seem like a very likely explanation. 

Ok, so I'm having an odd issue with my truck and I need some opinions from you guys. Here's the story...

So, I bought a new-to-me truck from my buddy that lives in New Jersey. Im from Texas. The truck is a 2011 Ford F-250 in Tuxedo Black for what its worth. The truck has stayed outside for its entire life, and my buddy wasn't as diligent with cleaning as I am. In other words, it sat dirty a lot. The issue I'm having is that I'm getting light holograms here and there after every wash. Now, Im washing as correctly as possible. Clean pad, two buckets etc. Ive never had this issue before, even with the same exact paint color on my old truck. The truck was corrected by a buddy of mine right after I bought it, and other than some small surface scratches, it was perfect. He just did a single stage polish on it, so I knew I'd still have some surface scratches. The big thing is that it was hologram free after the correction, but I can't stop finding new ones after every wash! You'd think I was using a filthy wash mitt! Is it possible that the northern winters have made the clear coat super sensitive or something? Its driving me nuts! Any help is appreciated!

Makes me think of those guys that just run up and start washing your windows at a red light... If I want you washing my car, I'll ask, otherwise don't touch it! 

Hey guys, my name is Colin and I'm from New Braunfels, Texas. I got turned onto Adam's a while back from a friend, but I have yet to buy any products. I'm about to take the plunge however, and add yet another hobby to my life.   I've been using off the shelf stuff from Auto Zone since I started driving, and it's done ok, but I'm ready to take things to the next level. I'm also wanting to get into a better cleaning schedule with my vehicles. I currently wash weekly if possible, but always every other week. Waxing has been my issue really. I wax once a year tops.   I'm tired of my vehicles looking just "ok". At any rate, here is a list of what my wife and I own:

My truck: 2013 F-150 FX4, Tuxedo Black

Her car: 2012 Jeep Liberty Limited, White

My toy: 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ, Moss Green

Our daily drivers just need standard maintenance, but the Jeep is in need of complete paint correction. I do plan to repaint it, but until then I want to make it look as good as possible. I'll add some pictures of them all eventually I'm sure.
