Never had a tornado touch down near me, but have seen one start to. But we get massive storm systems that come over our town and because we're in a valley, they get trapped here. Three major floods, the last of which destroyed our city and took out all of our industry jobs. We've had storms come through where I've had 3 50 foot pine trees come down on my house (that was an experience) . But I can't ever remember the weather being like it's been these past two years not just here, but everywhere. Plus this snow cyclone storm over Colorado yesterday? Snow cyclone??? Who ever heard of something like that? But I'm just glad I'm not shoveling 4' of snow. Been there, done that.
Wow that sounds rough. I don't know what is going on with the weather..lets hope it gets better soon.

Our summer was so wet last year that I put less than 1000 miles on the Vette, and only got to cut the back grass 3 times!! Didn't even get cut before the first snow because it's a literal swamp in the yard. So what I'm hoping for more than anything is DRY! Our water tables are overflowing, so a dry summer, or even a more normal spring and summer would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah I hear ya. Around here we had over a foot of snow before Thanksgiving, now that its melting you all the leaves that never got raked up ...its been a weird year. I just hope no tornadoes.

No kidding, we have gone from negative temps last week to with it going to get to almost 60 today, but now it rain everyday and all the snow melting. Maybe the roads will dry up next week??
I know after the Winter we have had....I'm a little scared to see what this Spring brings.

Can't wait until it warms up here so I can finally do a good hand wash!

I took the SS from manky to sparkly using Adam’s Wash & Wax. I first rinsed then foamed the entire ride before setting out cleaning the wheels and tires first. The wheels and calipers are coated so the Wash & Wax is enough to get them clean. I rinsed them off then applied a competitors spray n rinse “coating” on them. Next up was a rinse then refoam using my jumbo iK sprayer. I then washed the SS using the many wash mitts in one bucket method. I rinsed then dried using no LSP as the water is beading very well. I then went out in the sun for photos and to allow me to squeegee the garage floor of salt, road grunge and wash residue.
Tomorrow the wife’s Beast gets its turn in my AutoSpa. Her vehicle is just plain filthy.
Nice! Do you wash the vehicles in your garage..how does that set up work...do you have heated water?

Expected Time

I personally haven't tried it, I usually mix some Dawn dish soap and the shampoo as a "strip wash".

Funny I was just thinking about this subject this morning. I would also say that sounds about right, especially considering the Ram, pickups always take longer. I usually try to either do the interior and outside of one or both the interiors or both the outsides to help break it down. This is based on one day for me, I never have 2 day weekends so I have to pace myself for that one day.

Am I the only one that thinks these pics would make really cool desktop backgrounds?

What I normally do is wash the vehicle, clay the surface, then dry and put a layer of Brilliant Glaze on them....it really makes them "pop".
-
That's very true...forgot about the baggie test..always a good test..kinda sounds like I may not need to clay as much as I think which I'm ok with....one of the less favorite detail steps for me.
-
Thanks for all the help everybody. I think I'm going to clay once in the spring once in the fall before I lay down the Liquid Paint Sealant. She is garage kept but at work it tends to get quite dusty real quick.
-
I usually use some All Purpose Cleaner and some paper towels.

No need to complicate things...you probably only need to clay 2-3 times a year.
When you clay, you are cleaning the paint and stripping protection.
After claying, apply Paint Sealant.
Then every month or every other month use GnG as a booster after you wash.
ok thank you..thats kinda what I was thinking would be the better way.

Do you have to clay the paint before applying H2O? For example if I were applying LPS would I wash, then clay then LPS, then next wash do the H2O? Or could I wash, apply H20, then next wash clay and LPS?

Also welcome from another Iowan

Hey,
I was just wondering if they plan to bring the Adam's Rolling Detail Seat back or if it was just a Black Friday promotion. I don't see it on the website any more.
Thanks in advance
