  1. Absolutely. Many of us have to do the same thing. It will turn out great.

Plus you have the added benefit of going back and correcting an area that you notice needs more attention.

    The sealant will last MONTHS.

Thank you. I tried to learn enought to not ask dumb questions but I did not see much about how long to be in that condition. The V8 video does do the order clear enough and says that after clay, polish is not protecting so you need to protect. Then it talks of seal, glaze, wax (or some combination) but is not clear to me how long to go without completing the whole thing and be protected enough. Wish I had three days at once to do it all. Don't we all?

  2. Your order of attack is perfect.

As far as working panel to panel I would suggest you:

1:  Wash and clay the entire car.

2:  Polish only as much as you can finish at a time

    3:  Seal the polished portion

4:  Rinseless wash when you start on a new polish session.

5:  Glaze and Wax the entire car after the polishing is complete.

Thank you.  So I am thinking that realistically I'll do one session of top (hood, roof, trunk), another day front and a side, third day back and other side.

So it may be a week or more that some parts are polished / sealed and not glazed/waxed. Therefore I assume you are saying sealed is enough protection for a week or a bit more on daily driver till I can do the last bit?

  3. So I have my starter Cyclo set with the Correcting Polish, Finishing Polish, and Paint sealant.

I know that I will not do the car in a day (or two for that matter) So I am guessing that I want to do each pannel to completion and then move on. It seems bad to wash, claybar, correct, finish polish and then wait a couple days to finish cause there is no protection till it is all there.

    So is the process really:

    Correcting Polish

    Finishing Polish

    Paint sealant

    Brilliant Glaze

    Buttery Wax

Not trying to be anal here but I am thinking I want to do each pannel or as many as I can at a time completely before waiting potentially days to do the rest.  Do most of you do it as a "5 Step" process like above?.

Reason for asking is a might want to get Glaze and wax before I start doing anything.  If this is a stupid question, I am sorry and please ckalk it up to a cautious nubie. I have watched all the V8 vidio's and I may just bee in information overload.

  4. So my car is white with lots of black parts (roof, spoiler, mirrors, some hood etc) I see swirtls easily in the black and I know that they are just as bad in the white. Trouble is I really have to be in the right light and at the right angle to see the white ones. Anyone know a trick that makes them easier to see to get them out. I think that when using my new cyclo, I'll spending more time looking than correcting.

  5. Welcome, Fred.  I live in Westminster and do a lot of shopping at the HQ in Louisville.  Folks are real nice to deal with.  Love the car.  Maybe I'll see you on the local car show circuit.

Hi Bob I would like to meet up with you some time . The car show thing is interesting but would I belong there? My car is nice in that it is a 2013 Charger SRT and it is a little special in that it is one of the 392 made over 13 and 14 with the 392 graphics package. Of the 392 it is #002 so at least I am proud of it. Is that some thing that belongs in a show if it is stock otherwise? If so shoot me something that points me to when the shows are.    Thank you for making me feel welcome.

  6. Nice ride Fred! Welcome to Adams!

Yes we are lucky with the Adams HQ down the street! Although they don't have their warehouse there anymore, there is still the shop that has the essentials. If you are interested, we do cruises with our car club on a regular basis. We are car enthusiasts and have many brands in our club, although we started out as just Cobalts :)

Thank you for the feedback. colodude18 let me know how to hook up with you guys for a ride. I was told by a Adams sales guy (Benjamin from Seattle I think) that the HQ does try and carry everything from the catalog.  Except for maybe the polishers.  Is that not true?   If not I guess I'll go to A&J Tire in Denver as they are short detour of my daily commute.

  7. I am a real rookie to this. I guess like many I have a cabinet full of Meguiar's products and have been doing what I can by hand for years.

In May I bought a 2013 Charger SRT 392 edition and it had been on a lot in Kansas for months. While it looked good I saw a lot of swirls and such.  Reading on the net for days till I was completely confused had me end up watching all the videos on Adams.

I hope they get it together a bit cause I went through vidio and noted what I want. Then got a catalog and many things were not in there. I went online to get a good started kit and some of the pieces did not match the video or the catalog.  No big deal but could be a lot better.

So I'll get my starter set this weekend and add to it over time.  I think here are only like 5 things in the cartalog I don't expect to buy.

Nice thing is that I can drive to the HQ in Louisville CO.  in like 30 min from work so I think I'll be stopping by there soon.

Hope to get a lot of good info. from this site and really keep my new daily drive looking good.

Maybe some day I can offer help to someone on here.

  8. After years of Meguiars and doing things by hand. I have been reading about polishers till i've about gone blind.  I see  the JULY4th discount and I will be ordering the Cyclo kit this weekend.  Forget the name but it is the one that is normally 509.00.  This seems like a good deal and on Thurs I visited the Adams dealer in Denver.  Seemed like knowledgable and helpfull people.
I watched all the vidio's and mow know that I absolutely need just about everything Adams sells.

    Wish me luck.
