  1. I don't believe the stuff will last that long. Now, with that kit they gave you, go ahead and take care of the scratches the best you can (just use the least aggressive method you can to get the desired result - and don't over think the problem) and reapply the paint protector renewer by the instructions on the bottle. A thin, thin, thin coat is all you will need.

If you haven't yet, pick up a tub of Americana from Adams. The tub will last and last, it is really easy to use, and it will add to the protection on your car and help it look better.

Next time you buy a car, be willing to walk away if they want to charge you for that sealant. Actually, be willing to walk away from any deal if it isn't right. I've found the best approach in buying a new car is to walk out - they don't want you to go and will usually change their stance.

Thank you. I will try that kit first, I hope it work.

  2. If you use the compound on it, yes, it will remove the paint protection. What they sold you was a sealant that they say lasts 7 years.

There can be a big debate about the actual longevity of these types of sealants, but there isn't a debate on removing it with an abrasive action like compounding (or claying). You bought an expensive sealant for the car, you may not want to next time. For now, you have two choices - 1) live with the scratches. 2) take care of them and knowing you removed the protection, apply a wax or sealant.

do you believe the Resistall sealant that can stay protect up to 5 years without wax at all? I m new for the car. I really don't know. also they give me the 6 bottle care kit.  paint protector renewer is that the sealant?

  3. Did you pay $800 for a sealant that lasts 7 years but yet requires you to go to the dealership for maintenance application every 4-5 months?

I m new, first car. paid 695$ for resistall ng2. no maintenance application after. I never go there again. I purchased the Toyota highlander in Boch Toyota in Norwood in MA, when I pick up the car, They said the contract is not ready. I m confused. The contract I already sign for it last week. why is not ready. They said sent it to me. wait two weeks nothing. I went there talk to the manager, They give me a three separate printer paper with the resistall NG5 695$ on it. I ask for the contract I sign for it, the one with color and long paper. They don't have that. and the resistall already put on my car. can't refund. I m so mad. but I want the car. nothing I can do. The just add that up. and the third paper still have your signature on it. that is true story. I don't want it. but................

  4. I just purchased a new Audi S5 and I made the mistake of adding on the ResistAll protection package, which has already been applied. It included something put on the outside of the car as well as the interior. I now realize this was likely a waste of money, but what's done is done. Since buying the car about 3 weeks ago, I've become interested in doing my own cleaning and detailing which I've never done before.

I would like to wash, clay, polish, seal, maybe glaze and wax, and maintain the interior.

    My questions:

What actually was applied to my car with this ResistAll package and would that change how I should clean/maintain the car from now on?  I believe they added some sort of sealant but I am not sure what, how it was applied, quality of application, etc.  Would I still do all the above steps the same way as if no Resistall was ever on the car?  Would you recommend just stripping the ResistAll and starting fresh with my own products?  As for interior, any advice on how I should treat/maintain the leather/dash etc considering there is a layer of Resistall on there already?

Products I have or have on order:  Car shampoo, clay bar, swirl/haze remover + revive polishes, quick sealant, brilliant glaze, americana wax, detail spray, all purpose cleaner, waterless wash, glass cleaner and sealant, leather/interior cleaner and leather conditioner.

    Any advice greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks,

    Marc

Any kind of clay bar/ wet sand type procedure will indeed remove the sealant from the pain. I have the resistall NG2 too. I don't know if I can use the Meguiar's G17216 Ultimate Compound to remove the light scratch. it maybe remove the resistall NG. They said is on the clear coat. They said you dont have to wax your car up to 5 years, I don't believe too. no polish also.

  5. Hi, everyone

My car have been purchased the Resistall NG2 Exterior Paint Protection and inside protection for 7 years. it cost 795$,  after the big snow in Boston. I found some scratch on my front cover. I want to remove the light scratch use the Meguiar's G17216 Ultimate Compound, but I ask them is that ok to use that? the answer is "Any kind of clay bar/ wet sand type procedure will indeed remove the sealant from the pain."  they said the resistall NG2 chemical is on the clear coat.  and I don't know if I can use the Meguiar's G17216 Ultimate Compound? if I use, it maybe remove the protection for the clear coat. I don't understand it really cost that much money? They also said you don't have to wax your car up to 7 years. really?
