  1. Well it's finally official. The army is moving me again. Originally I was going to Afghanistan as a member of a transition team, then there was talk about me going to Korea and now I finally have the officiall word on where I'll be heading next. We will be moving in the beginning of February 2010 to Fort Bliss Texas which is right outside of El Paso. I'm getting excitied becuase I'll be a First Sergeant of an Infantry Company where I'll be responsible for about 110 soldiers. I enjoy ROTC duty but nothing beats rubbing elbows with infantry soldiers. The wife and kids are really looking forward to the move as well. This should be our last army move becuase I'll be retiring from this assignment.

So if any of you folks are in the El Paso area please tell me the good and bad. Thanks.

    Rob

Rob, I'd also like to join the others in thanking you for your service and welcome you to Texas (soon). I don't know much about the El Paso area though...........sorry. I hope the move goes well for you.

  2. Aren't they great? My granddaughter has figured out how to "spray" and wipe now. She does the back end for me. Yours is just as cute. Nice pic grandpa.

Thanks Rich. The truth is that she's got us wrapped around her finger. She'll probably own the vette someday!

  3. The C3's (68 - 82's) made me want one, as a teenager. Specifically the earlier ones with the big blocks. Funny thing is that I didn't get my first one until I was in my forties and it ended up being a very used C4 (84) model with 160,000 miles. That was 7 years ago and I'm now on my third one (a 2002 model).

    I've joined Corvettes Anonymous because I know I have a problem!:glasses:

With any luck, I'll never be without one again. For me, it really has nothing to do with speed or admiration of others.............I just love to drive these cars.

  4. Shawn,

I too thank you for your service to this country. Both of my brothers are retired Air Force and I know first hand of the sacrifice that a soldier (and his/her family) makes while serving. Stay safe and know that you've got a lot of folks pulling for you back in the states. Hopefully the time will pass quickly so you can get back to your family.
