  1. I would just drive the car. Don’t chase perfection...it’s a fruitless exercise. When I picked up my wife’s AMG, it went right to my detailer for a CQuartz Pro coating. First road trip out, I went to wash it and there was a rock chip on the front bumper. At the end of the day, they’re drivers. Things happen and nobody will notice it but you.

  2. New question:

I walked out this morning to find that somebody dumped a 20oz Coca Cola all over the side of the car and left the empty bottle on my roof.  Amazing that people can't leave other people's things alone.

In the interest of time, I took a damp MF to loosen the sticky mess then wiped the car down with Detail Spray.  There is some blotching on the black finished trim that I need to get to at some point.

    Any tips?

Any clean bucket will work. I would use the grit guard in the rinse bucket and scrub your wash pad on it when rinsing it then put it back into the soap bucket.
If you have not already done so check out the Adams video's on the site.

Yeah you know what?  I was meaning to grab another bucket from my parents' house when my wife and I go visit for Christmas.  Completely forgot about that original game plan until you reminded me with this post.

  4. Thank you for the recommendations.  I plan on using G&G on the glass to see how that works out in terms of letting the water bead.  If that doesn't work I'll try a sealant of some sort.  Tire & Rubber Cleaner sounds like it is something I need to consider so I can get a nice adhesion with tire dressing.  I got a Leather & Interior cleaner in my mystery box that I plan on testing out on my daily to see how effective it is and what type of sheen it leaves.

@BluedogGMC I have one bucket with grit guard.  Not sure I will be using a two bucket system yet.  Maybe when it warms up, I'll pick up some other things.  Letting my wallet breathe for a little bit after the new car purchase, all of the Adam's stuff I just purchased, and Christmas.

  5. I just put together my cleaning bag after the purchase of the Essentials Kit, and the Mystery Trunk Organizer.  I believe I have everything covered for maintenance washes.  I am looking to see if you Adam's veterans see any gaps in my finalized bag.

As for the vehicles, I have a CQuartz Pro coated 2019 GLC43 with CQuartz Finest on the wheels.  The daily which I will experiment products & techniques on is a 2009 X Terra Off Road with 200K miles.  The Adam's towels I will reserve for the new car.

I have a bundle of Kirkland(Costco) MF towels to use on the daily.  I also have a clay bar and old detail spray as lubricant that I can use on the daily when the Spring comes around to get that 10 year old paint smooth.  Once I do that, I don't know what product I will use to seal the paint.  I won't be doing anything with tools as I don't need it perfect, but just a clean surface to test products on while I just do maintenance washes on the GLC.

  6. New member here.  Added a new stablemate which has been CQuartz Professional coated and I am getting back into car care.  I used to sample many different products from typical retailers.  For years, I have watched and read about Adam's products so here I am.

I picked up the Essentials Kit so I am off to the races.  I will search and see which products I should use, but if anyone has any product recommendations in terms of ceramic coated care that would be extremely helpful.  Aside from the products in the kit, I also have a bottle of CarPro Reload to add to my arsenal.

When the weather warms up, I plan on seeing what I can do with my 200K mile daily that has been street parked for 6 years in NYC.

One quick question I do have for you all is can I use H2o Guard & Gloss on my glass to create a hydrophobic layer?
