  1. I would second on all purpose cleaner and fender brush. Car looks nice what are the mods and times?

I've replaced the whole drive train and suspension in it.

    427 LSX twin turbo

    4L80 transmission

    9" IRS kit

    complete Pfadt suspension

The shop finished the mods on the car on Thursday last week. They started it for the first time that afternoon and dyno tuned it that night. The next day (Friday) they brought it to Indy for the Camaro 5 Fest and we made a few test and tune passes. Best quarter mile time was 10.06 and best trap speed was 143 mph. That was running on waste gate springs only. The boost controller is going in soon. It should be in the 9s once we get it dialed in a bit more.

  2. check out the new volume 8 videos!

spray the wheel wells liberally with APC, scrub with fender brush. you might need two passes with it to get it all.

as for the rubber on the paint. soak it in WW and see if spraying it with the hose removes it. if not, you can use APC or Tarminator, but it will remove any wax/sealant from the finish.

last resort is physically touching the paint with something. be sure the paint is well lubricated with WW or APC, then with a junk microfiber GENTLY remove the debris from the paint. follow the method Dylan does in the volume 8 WW video on how to move the junk towel along the paint!

Thank you! I must admit, I have not yet watched vol. 8 of the new videos. I had the old videos memorized!!

    Off I go to watch...

    Thanks again.

  3. Just took my car to the track for the first time last weekend to try some drag racing. We have drag radials on the car and we did some burn outs before launching it.

What is the best way to remove the rubber from the wheels from the rear fender/rocker area and the wheel well? By the way, the rear fender has 3M clear bra on it just behind the rear tire.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

    Pic from the track...

  4. THAT my friend is a SICK looking engine... Personally I would like it mounted in my room so I could look at it before bed and when I wake up... lol

Seems like a shame to put it in a Camaro when it would look so much better in my G8...

    :lolsmack:

    Chris

I think it looks pretty good in my Camaro.

  5. Back home with a Vengeance. Picked car up Friday. Car made decent numbers on a 90+ degree heavy day. Won a class award at weekend show in Atlanta and had a grin the whole way home just beating the deluge from Beryl.

Darth Emma how is the car build going?

It's moving along. The interior is going back in now that the cage is painted.

On my other vehicle, I debadged my new truck last week.

  6. It's finally coming together Terri! Can't wait to see more pictures.

BUT, all I can think about when I see these pictures is "how are they going to know where everything goes to put it all back together!" :willy:

I know the mechanic in charge of my build. He'll do fine.

In fact, he had to put much of the interior back in the car to cut around the pieces to fit them around the cage. Then he took it out and sent it to be painted. He didn't want to try fitting the pieces and cutting after it was painted so he wouldn't make marks in the paint. (He knows how I am about my car's paint!)

  7. Terri are you planning on keeping the interior as factory looking as possible with the addition of the cage or is it going to be all stripped out?

For now, I'm trying to keep the interior factory looking (mostly). I have made a few interior mods... steering wheel, shifter, footwell lighting, etc. Nothing major though.

The cage will be painted to match the exterior of the car (Cyber Gray Metallic).

Although, a friend of mine recently got some Corbeau racing seats and I'm thinking I'd like to put those in at some point. Here is a pic.

I haven't seen any racing seats that I thought I'd like to put in my car until I saw these. I want to show my car as well as race it, so appearance is important to me. (obviously, that's why I'm in these forums!)

  8. I decided to do a major overhaul of my 2010 Camaro SS this spring...

427 LSX block with All Pro 6-bolt heads and Hogan intake manifold

    IPS twin turbo kit

    4L80e RPM Stage VI transmission

    Drive Shaft Shop 9" kit

    10-point chrome moly cage

The car looked like this last week. It's at the cage shop now.

  9. Yeah, it does sound sweet. Makes my car seem real tame.

Thanks guys! I love coming here. My husband is totally NOT into cars. So, it makes me feel good to come in here where you folks understand.

The car really is stupid loud with the cutouts open. But, that can be fun at the right moments.

  10. Terri, you are going to make lots of boys cry when they pull up beside you! :burnout:

The most fun I had with that was about 2 weeks ago. I stopped a red light and a guy in the next lane signaled for me to roll down my window, which I did. He said "let's race!" I said "ok" and opened my exhaust cutouts. He then started saying "no no no! nevermind!" as he waved his hands to signal he was no longer interested. We were both laughing.

BTW, I don't street race. But the cutouts are a blast at traffic lights. :)
