I do detail regularly, so I am not too concerned about the paint, trim or rubber. Adam's has me covered there!  Rock chips would be my biggest concern so I may look into protective film near the mud flaps.

As for the undercarriage, I am now leaning away from the undercoatings and rust proofing. I would hate to trap any moisture under the coating and they seem to chip relatively easy.

Although it can be cleaned in the spring, something about coating the underside of the truck in oil is really off-putting to me. I stumbled across a product called Fluid Film that I will most likely end up going with. It sprays on and and stays "wet" like oil, but with enough effort, I can get it off in the spring with a pressure washer and APC. Plus, I won't have the rainbow oil patterns all over my driveway whenever it is wet.

I am about to purchase my first brand new vehicle, a 2016 Chevy Colorado in either Black or Red. My current daily driver, a 2004 Colorado, gets detailed twice a year and washed every week or so. Since I bought it 6 years used with 100,000 miles, there were obviously things that detailing couldn't fix.

I am looking for any tips to keep my brand new truck looking as good as possible for as long as possible. I own just about every Adam's product, but I live in Cleveland where the roads are covered in salt for half of the year. 

Aside from a few details a year and regular washing, does anyone have any tips?

I plan on buying a set of Weathertech mats since I am often on construction sites. I've heard of people coating the underside of vehicles, but don't have read many mixed reviews. I have also head of people putting motor oil on the frame to prevent rust.

I am also thinking about getting clear headlight protection film to protect the lights.

Any and all other suggestions are welcome!

Dylan, it makes perfect sense now that I read it again. Thanks for the tips guys. I'll keep trying with the deep wheel cleaner.

If anyone else has any tips, keep them coming! 

I am replacing the brake drums so the new ones will be painted and hopefully prevent this in the future. 

Using a wire brush on the wheels will further harm the wheel finish, won't it? As I mentioned before I can scrape the rust off with my fingernail as you can see in the picture. If this rust can be scraped off the surface without harming the finish, why repaint the wheels?

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions like a rubbing alcohol, rust remover or something along those lines.

The weather finally got nice enough to wash my truck. Unfortunately I discovered that the rear brake drums are rusting so bad that the rust has caked onto the finish of my rims. It is not the rim itself rusting because it is only on the rear rims and I can scrape it off with my fingernail.

I have attached a picture that shows where I scraped some of the rust off with my finger nail. How would you guys go about getting the rust off these rims without damaging the wheel finish? 

I have already attempted to use Deep Wheel Cleaner twice and that didn't do much to the rust. I tried a clay bar and all that does is turn the clay orange. 

Any help is appreciated!

I was wondering the same thing. I ordered a gallon of Detail Spray and a gallon of Rinseless Wash and a bottle of Leather Conditioner. All showed up frozen solid. (It got down to -11*F here).

I brought them inside and put them in the cabinet to thaw and didn't think anything of it until now. 

Nick, do you see any issue here? I haven't used any of them yet.

That's awesome to hear, especially for trucks. The GTO doesn't see much dust inside, but you can bet the truck usually does.

I was not a beta tester but I ordered a bottle of TID when it went of sale. Since I knew there were already reviews from the beta testers (and probably going to be more), I didn't plan on taking pics or writing a review. I was just going to try it out.

I own just about every Adams product, but until now, they didn't offer a quick interior detailer. I tried out numerous brands of quick interior detailers and ended up giving most away because I just didn't like any of them. Most were too glossy, some seemed like they attracted dust instead of repelled it, some were streaky, some felt smiley/oily... I just couldn't find one i liked. For the most part I used 3:1 old VRT/water.

Anyway, I was excited to hear about the new interior detailer. Finally got my hands on a bottle and used it on my DD Chevy Colorado. The interior hadn't been cleaned since fall. Here are my thoughts on the product:

SMELL

Many people have commented on the smell. Best I can describe it is babypowder and a bar of soap mixed together. Something new, but very pleasant. The smell doesn't linger though. Can't really comment on the odor neutralizers since my truck didn't have a bad smell to it.

APPLICATION

My favorite part about this product was the way it wiped up. It is hard to describe in words, but after you test multiple interior detailers, you'll realize most don't wipe up as easy. I sprayed this onto my dash and a pass or two with a towel brought the plastic back to life. It was streak free, sat even on the dash and didn't shine. It just looked like new plastic.

CLEANING POWER

It easily wiped away smudges and had no problem cleaning up where my boots occasionally hit the door getting in and out of the truck.

DUST

Haven't got much dust in the truck yet, but I can definitely say that it doesn't attract dust.

I know everyone loves pics, but I really didn't plan on writing a review on it. I was just so impressed with the product that I felt compelled to. I'm also happy I finally found an interior detailer that I like. And what a surprise, its made by Adam's. Great work guys I will be ordering my gallon soon.

No suggestions? I was thinking about a dot or 2 of super glue.Not sure how well that would sit though.

I am detailing a Jeep and the seat has a perfectly cut rip in the leather. Any tips on what to use to repair the leather? I would rather use a leather repair kit as opposed to a dot of superglue.

Any suggestions?

Can I change mine to Monaro Joe? Wasn't planning on doing a Monaro conversion when I got the car lol

This is the first time i've seen this. I though i broke my tub when I had trouble getting the lid off. I figured i screwed it on wrong the last time i used it and messed up the grooves. I actually happy to find out i didn't break it
