I just got a whole big bunch of Adams products from my local distributor last weekend and I cant wait to try them out. My question is should I wash the car with dawn first to get all the old wax off before I go through the process in the DVD? I cant wait to get started, i am so siked.

Sorry about that, Bill is right. If the aluminum isn't clear coated then our Metal Polishes will work wonders! Mirror like shine in just a few wipes. Bill is right on the paint however, treat the painted areas just like automotive paint. If your aluminum ring is clear coated treat it like a painted surface also, polish and wax accordingly. Hope that helps!
The rims are not clear coated. My question is with the narrow snowflake ribs is it safe to use the metal polish and if it got on the paint would it damage the finish?

Hello everyone and glad to be here. I heard about the Adams products from a guy on a TransAm forum I am a member of. He said the products are amazing. I just put my 79 away for a long winter sleep but will be doing major detail in spring. I attend quite a few shows and anything to give me an edge to stand out would be awesome. So any tips and tricks anyone has please feel free to let me know.
Looking forward to chatting with everyone here.
Here is a pic of my baby.
Glad to be here

Will it be safe to use the #1 and #2 polish on my trans am rims without damaging the painted surface? They are hand polished aluminum with gold painted snowflakes.
Also if you could reccomend a good detail spray and wax for a gold finish.
Here is a pic so you have an idea of what I am trying to do.
