That may not be out of the question!!!  I just put 100K on the car and just know it needs a good detailing to keep it fresh.

Hi Gang,

It will take me at least two days to detail my dailer driver the way I want to.  I can't afford to spend the time to do so, but it really needs it.

I want to find someone who will do it like I would (probaby better!) and use Adams products.  There are a ton of auto detailers here, but we know that I'd like to take it up a notch. 

What can I do?

I wasn't sure what to do here, it's not an automotive application, but the Engine on my RC airplane was heavily oxidized and just looking awefull. For how well this engine runs and what it costs I just couldn't take it anymore. Not sure what to do - Natrually I watched a few of Adam's videos. Sure enough metal polish seemed like the trick and what awesome results! I only spent maybe an hour on this last night, but now it's a thing of beauty! Probably could have spent more time and got it nicer, but I'm good to go now! Unfortunatly I didn't take a before picture, but if you look at the aluminum plate near to the red anodized peice you can get a feel for what it looked like, although I polished that as well some. The oxidation was soo bad you couldn't even read the logo on the crankcase. Anyway Thanks Guys!!!

Okay Guys will do. We may not be ready for winter, but it's ready for us. Looks like I'll be stuck in the garage for a while :-( I made the mistake of sweeping the floor with the car in the garage. I guess it's waterless wash time...

Hi Guys,

This summer I did a complete revitalizing of the paint job. Clay bar, three step polishing, sealing, and waxing. I did some driving but now I've washed the car and it sits in the garage. What should I do to maintain it? Should I just hit it with detail spray and a light coat of americana wax? That's what I had in mind or should I just use glaze - what do you think?

I use a soft toothbrush a little detail spray and a microfiber towel.

Thanks that did it! But I'll follow the advice of working smarter not harder next time. This was more work than I care to admit! However I wouldn't have thought of the Detail spray but it worked great.

Hey Thanks alot guys. I waited 24 hours before applying the second coat. That vid helped alot, sure wish I had see that one prior to the job!!!!

So I was going to apply the Americana wax next but I see that you use the glaze first in your vid. Should I do the same?

Hello all,

I just followed the three step process with my flex polisher and put on two coats of sealant. Before I apply the wax I would just like to check. I think I might have worked the sealant on too much with the polisher expecting it to "flash" and it didn't. As a result I had some residual haze I couldn't get off immediately. I used some detail spray the next day and I think I got most of it off but I am just wondering before I wax should I maybe pass back over it with the fine polish or another coat of sealant? What do you think? Much TIA.

I used to have a hand held dust mop to take care of that. Suprised I don't see anything like that here at adams. A leaf blower seems kinda harsh to just knock dust off...

After you wash your towels your afraid your clothes might get damaged from the polish left behind in the machine?

That is exactly what I am worried about. I just moved into a new apartment and the washing machine looked a little grungy after the last time I washed my towels. It's not a very sophisticated washer...

Okay,

It is coming off. I did the area around the mirrors and it's clean. The areas under the windshield are more stubborn. Two applications of APC and it cleared up a little, but still discolored. Now that I think about it, I had "another" product that I used before I got the VRT. I guess that's what's going on? Anyway, thanks guys.

Okay, so that should come out? I'll be detailing this weekend (hopefully) I'll let you know how it goes. maybe I'll take out the APC tonight and give it a test run.

This is a new car, and the VRT has been the only product I have specifically used on the trim. I'll try the APC this weekend; use a microfiber towel to scrub it?

Hello All,

I just started using VRT on all the plastic / rubber trim on the outside of my daily driver. I've noticed in several places it is now looking discolored. I though perhaps I applied too much in one place and it discolored the plastic trim? Is this possible? Please take a look at the attached video and let me know what you think I can do.

It makes no difference IMO. Isn't the competitors product clear and the bottle opaque? (not that I would know)

I think offering both is a mistake, too many choices sometimes make it more intimidating for the less informed, better to keep it simple.

Just FYI, there's probably a good import tax on that stuff from china, I have an experience that it may be around 16%. Doesn't that money go into our economy? Regardless, that $20 bag must cost them $5 bucks or so....

I'm not a huge fan of the velcro idea, I always get velcro things stuck in my trunk and they pull 'tuffs' of the carpet out.

True, but this is my daily driver, not the show car - so I am less concerned.

That trunk bag is an awsome idea! Just a small bag to hold detail spray a microfiber towel VRT and an applicator pad would be great! Put some velcro on the bottom so it dosen't slide around in the trunk and we are all set.

This would be great for my daily driver - I could do a "quickie" at lunchtime:rockon:
