Sorry I just got back from a trip so nothing has been done yet. I am going to wipe it down tomorrow.
Huh... My paint shop told me wait 6 months for wax... Does anyone think that's a bit long? Or is it because of curing in cold weather?I am guessing this is mostly due to the weather. Can't say exactly sure that it should take that long or not.
When i bought my first new car i went to go get it detailed. The owner of the detailing company told me it was a little to soon to use a buffer on the car. At the time the car was about 9 months old. He said he usually doesnt use a buffer on a car thats newer then 1 year.Thats what he said. I have no other knowledge of this. Ill ask my neighbor when i see him, he owns a body shop.
I can see his point that if its a new car, unless you live in harsh conditions and don't wash your car well, then you probably shouldn't need to buff it. Probably could just hand polish and wax it.

That's sounds good...I think I might know someone that works in a body shop too..I will try and get in contact with him as well...I know someone would comment about the so cal weather...nothing compared to the other states but still...lol

I am not too familiar myself...2-3 weeks I was told... But plan to wait at least 4 especially since the weather is starting to get a little chilly here in so cal

Hey guys,
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving weekend. So its been a while since I've posted only because my car had some clear coat failure and its makes me sad. It failed on the roof, fenders, doors, trunk...you name it. (Honda Civic SI 2007 Black btw). So after a certain recall on a paint issue I talked to the management at the dealer and to see if they can do anything about the rest of the car. They agreed and I had to cover 30% of the cost to repaint the car excluding bumpers. Great for an unemployed person with $$$ loans from grad school.
So to my question. They said to leave the car for about 2 weeks for the paint to fully cure before polish/wax the car. I had to park the car outside for a few days before moving it into the garage today. Been a little dirty from the dust and the heavy mildew the last couple of days. Is it safe for me to wipe down the car with WCW or DS while waiting for the paint to cure before I give her the special service?
Any other tips you guys can think of as well would be great? Thanks again!!

Depends on what you order really... if you save on shipping and tax at the clinic and take the percentage off it might be more of a discount... shipping ain't cheap.
agreed....guess i can do a rough calculation of it...either way i think it will be close anyways...so either way it should be ok.
