I finally got a picture of the scratch. It doesn't look deep, only long.

I'll try and grab some pics tonight.

Haven't taken any yet because it's hard to get a shot in the grage but the scratch is about 2" lon and pretty jagged.

Took my car to a show last weekend in a cramped area. After getting it home, I noticed someone had put a fairly good size scratch in the top of my bumper. Any ideas on what I can use to get the scratch out? I think it's beyond Swirl and Haze.

Oh boy. I need creative excuses for my wife to prove to her why I need these new products. HELP!!!!

Just tell her you tried washing them and you should have left her help because you runined them and now you need new ones. (I would hide the old ones first though).

I discovered the blue MF Towels about a year ago and since then I've bought about a dozen of them. I still have a whole bunch (maybe around 50) of regular MF towels around but now I only use them for non-painted areas like windows, tires, and under the hood.

I think the blue Adam's MF towels rock!

Never heard of this before. Always dried my car completely before using DS. Guess I'll try this method instead and save myself some time.

I liked all the helpful adviced Jason provided and will definately miss him.

The only thing today is good for is ducks!! It's been raining 7 days straight and no sign of refief till at least Friday (maybe). My feet are starting to web!

Do you have any of the data on the other limited Mustangs? Just curious how many there were of like Cobra's, Steeda's, Saleens, Bosses, Mach1's, etc.?

I don't off the top of my head but there are many Mustang sites that contain such stats. Won't help with the Steeda's and Saleens however since these are not considered Ford products.

BTW, even though a Lotus is low-slung doesn't really make it easy for a vertically challanged person to drive. The problem with most race type cars is where the pedals are in relationship to the seat and I can seldom reach the pedals even with my big toe let alone get my whole foot on one. Then to top it off, after I have adjusted the seat to the max, the door handles most times wind up behind me so I can't even get out of the car!My husband had a great laugh at my expense one day due to this.

Nice car. 3300 in one color one year limited production? That amuses me.

 

160 2008 Lotus Exige 240's in all colors is rare production. 20-30 Club racer editions also rare. And if we want to get down the rare by individual color. There has been exactly one (1) of these imported to the US. And I striped it.

 

I realize that a Mustang Bullitt might not be considered rare next to a Lotus Exige, however for a car that sells as well as a Mustang does (for all years), limiting a production run to 3041 (had to get my facts right there) definitely makes it a sought after car for Mustang enthusiasts.

I use one for ar shows only. Never thought of putting it up for detailing.

If you are looking for a Bullitt, you can look for a newer 2009 model. I think there are still some out there on dealer lots.

As for a 2001 like mine, there are used ones out there you just have to look since they were a limited production run. Only around 3300 in Dark Highland Green (my color).

We are buying my wife a Mustang soon, wish we could get one like that!

And the best part, it's a total Adam's shine. Whenever someone asks what products I use when detailing my car, I recommend Adam's.

I'm glad someone is getting some warm weather. We had a heat wave a week ago then last week it dropped by about 20 degrees and we've had below normal temps since.

Even without the wing, you can't mistake it for anything but a Mustang. It's got ponies are over it! When I park at shows, my husband always checks to see if the ponies on the red calipers are showing. Looks real cool that way.

Well, I finally got the Bullitt out to the first car show of the season. As people have been asking for some pics, here they are. The first shows me nad my Bullitt. The second is Mean Green and her trusty mascott Blazin Bullit.

Well, if the weather reports hold true, I'm going to get to my first show of the season tomorrow! I can't wait. Got to prep the car tonight so it's all nice and shiney!

We had a beautiful spring weekend here in Portland, OR. It was in the 70's and I was finally able to get my Bullitt out on the road. Took a ride down some twisty, whindy roads and just enjoyed. The nice weather is supposed to stick around for the next two days. After that, back to high fifty's and rain, rain, rain.

I agree with you Junkman. The grit guard is a great investment. I learned that that first time I used it when I got the mit too close to the bottom of the car. I just swished the mit against the guard and it took the wheel area grit right off so I didn't scratch the paint.

Hope you have a car cover just in case the wind changes. I have never been near a volcanic eruption (St Helens blew before I moved to the Pacific Northwest) but from what I understand the ash can wreck havoc on cars.

Apply Butterry wax to the whole car with bare hands? Now that I've never tried to do! Sounds messy but fun.

I apply the buttery wax to my Bullitt by hand each time. The car has too many curves for the machine plus I like giving my car that extra personal touch.
