  1. Hey guys thanks a ton for the info. I am using a halogen light and doing it in my garage. In the garage I can get it pretty good looking but once it hits the setting sun, and you look down a panel, you can see them. Adam, my truck is silver birch metallic. Tough color i know...

Dave, I will not be able to make the spring Carlisle show. I will give you a ring on the 28th!

  2. Easiest way to give tips would be to get a video of yourself correcting the paint.

I will say that, after reading, "my pads are wet enough with detail spray", I have one concern. How much detail spray are we talking? All you really need is one quick spray of the pad every so often IMO. I'd imagine with a soaked pad that the abrasiveness of the compounds won't be gritty enough to cut. Maybe i'm totally off on that one. I know the detail spray helps make the compound kind of activate again, but too much I would imagine could hinder performance.

Or maybe i'm totally off and you're only using one quick splash of detail spray and not obliterating your pads with it.. lol.

I'm only using about 1-2 squirts of detail spray.... trust me im not liquidizing the pads with it lol

  3. Well I got my PC kit about two months ago. I have tried on my Sierra twice to get the swirls out with the SSR, S&HR, FMP, and SS with all of the correct pads and cant get all of the swirls out. It looks awesome during the day, but once the evening sun hits it and you look down one of the body panels closely, you can see it. Im using about 10lbs of pressure and my pads are wet enough with detail spray. Even going over the area 2-3 times with SSR and S&HR I can still see the marks. Can anyone give me any tips of what to change up on my technique?

  4. My wheels are cleared. i am not sure about plastic coated though... I'm assuming metal polish would not work...I have been cleaning them with P21 car wash and washing them... Sometimes just using detailer on them. I have a feeling the sand from offroading is what did that to them. Now are these the correct steps for my paint and wheels? Would all be done with the Adams recommended pads and Porter cable machine.

    1) Clay them

    2) Severe swirl remover

    3) Swirl and haze remover

    4) Fine machine polish

    5) Brilliant glaze

    6) Americana Premium pase wax

  5. So on your door panels did you use SVRT, Then leather cleaner then leather conditioner?

Also what steps did you do with your leather seats? In very same situation as you with seats and door panels being dirty as hell.

  6. Hey guys, I am 18 and a senior in high school. I drive a GMC Sierra lifted 5" with 33's. I know the basics of detailing, just now looking to get into using a porter cable. I run my own small landscaping business when not in school. Planning to go off to Penn State Altoona next year!

  7. Well guys, my name is Parker and I am 18. I have a 2007 Gmc Sierra 1500, lifted 5" with tan interior. I am currently a senior in high school, planning on going to Penn State ALtoona. When I am not in school I am own my own small business doing landscaping during the year and summer.I'm fairly knowimg]all news rims and tires for my truck, theyeels are defective. I have offroaded these wheels a few times, but never any hardcore rocks or anything. Usually with these wheels I just wash and wax them. Recently I tried using adams revive on them. I def noticed a difference, but i still have small scratches in them. theyre not able to feel with your fingernail, but very visible. Also, being a landscaper, when i get in my truck i am dirty usually. i have tried to keep my leather as clean as i can but its a struggle. My drivers side seat has dirt in it that I just cant get out. I have used Lexxol on it, with no luck. If anybody could help cue me in with some detailing advice, that would be awesome! Here are some pictures:
