  1. I have a SS 1LE...the same interior material as the OP's ZL1.

It is Alcantara. I have always used Adams Interior Cleaner with a boars hair brush to work the cleaner in. Then a clean. dry single soft towel to blot out the mess. And it's usually a shocking amount of mess.

I clean mine twice a year. I live in Florida and track/AutoX on the regular. I really need to start using driving gloves.

When clean, the material 'stands up' really nicely. Great feel in the hands. When dirty, it feels 'slick'.

For Detail Spray, keep in mind that while it will not hurt coatings, it's not necessarily the best product to use on them, and may slightly alter some of the hydrophobic behavior of coatings. Waterless Wash works excellent on any of the above as well.

This is exactly the question I was looking to have answered. I will be using the Graphene Ceramic on my SS 1LE and wanted to know if it was ok to use my regular Detail Spray. Thanks!

  3. Well, quick update.

I finished the rest of the car, then went back to work on the roof.

Another round of Fine Machine Polish, then the appropriate amount of MSS and the scratches were gone.

I've been at this since 9am, so it's gonna cure overnight before I move on to the Brilliant Glaze and finally, Americana.

Thanks for all the replies. I am sure you can understand how relieved I was to hear they weren't permanent marks!

BTW- It's a new Ford Focus ST. Performance Blue <- their name, not mine. Although I am sure it's good for another 20HP. :D

  4. Greetings all.

Today was my first use of the Porter Cable. The initial steps went fine, then I moved on to the Machine Super Sealant and apparently dry buffed the h#ll out of my roof.

I guess I got excited seeing all that surface area and wound up using far less product than I should have.

Now I have a fair number of short, straight, very thin lines on the roof.

Can I fix these with another round of Fine Machine Polish or have I permanently scarred my paint?

I realized I may have done something bad when no amount of effort would remove the MSS residue. It took liberal amounts of labor and detail spray.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
