So I decided I'd make a new thread for this with the steps, products used and process and results pics. In total it took me 19 hours over 3 days this weekend.
I thought it turned out pretty good for my first try, enjoy!
This correction was on my wife's black 2007 Tahoe.
Friday after work, time spent, 4 hours.
Strip wash with dish soap and a little APC mix
Dry and clayed with detail spray and Adam's clay bar kit. (There was quite a bit of contamination, used 3/4 bottle of detail spray and 2 hunks of clay)
Then I applied SVRT to plastic trim pieces and taped of some areas
Saturday, 12 hours total on paint correction and sealant.
Here's what I used for paint correction and some supplies for me!
Here's the paint before I started, it was really bad.
During polishing on a test spot.
And the 50/50 shots of the test spot on the fender, quite a difference!
My helper Abby and an action shot:rockon:
Here are shots after the paint correction using the green, orange and white pads with there matching product.
Next I put on a coat of Revive polish with hand applicator and then Machine Super Sealant.
With Machine Super Sealant on
And shots after the Revive and Super Sealant, finished up Saturday night at midnight.
Sunday, 3 final hours.
Started at noon after Super Sealant had cured for 12 hours.
Applied Brilliant glaze and Buttery wax.
And the finished results:thumbsup:
Overall I was really impressed with all of the products and the Porter Cable rocks! The wife and I couldn't have been happier with the results! Thanks to Adam's for the great products and service and thanks to everyone on the Forum here who have given me tips and advice!
